are these guys reliable ? i`ve read the other posts and i`m still not sure what to make , i`m actually asking about them on behalf of a friend of mine who is interested in a server.

I did email them and adult content is now allowed, not that my friend will have adult content on his server but i knew that previously adult content wasn`t allowed.

Anyway any experiences and opinions would be appreciated

i`m particulary interested in what their support and reliability is like

Their RaQ's are $125/mo. I've been with them for just a few months and have NO complaints... They crecently were forced to change ISPs from Verio to Level3; which is a benefit! Just the inital impact was hard to get over with the new IP addresses allocated. Luckley I didn't have to change too many! :)

Vortech is highly recommended by me!

hes more looking for a better server , see rackshack do some pentiums and athlon servers at basically the same price as their raq's , hes had a raq before and hasn`t that impressed with the software on it

I have also been thinking about getting a Cobalt from Rackshack also. I have been asking my sales and support inquires via ICQ and they have answered everyone to my satisfaction and I really havent seen any bad posts about them. The onlything that concerns me is bandwidth They have a very high outgoing usage alot of the time if you look at thier MRTG Graphs you can see what im talking about... Other than that I have herd great things about them Its alot cheaper that buying your own server and doing colo.

If you can put up with a RaQ3, check out www.internetexpress.com . $49/mo w/50gig trnasfer and no content restriction. I mailed them a 256MB DIMM and they put it in my RaQ same day at no charge, and so far my machine has been quick and reliable (except when I screw it up!).

I'm bringing a second machine online with them net week!

I've been with Rackshack for 2+ years now and I have never had anything but top service. Every problem is fixed promptly. Every support agent is professional. Back when they colocated their servers I once had a support agent volunteer to run over there at 2 AM to figure out a problem that couldn't be fixed remotely. That was the only time my server has had an unsuspected downtime and it was fixed within 30 mins. Now that they are in the new data center service should only be that much better.
