Hello I am the Owner/Co-Devloper of a new forum calle CarbonBB (Carbon Bulletin Board). I am still in the testing phase of the bulletin board (almost ready for beta testers) but would like to get some opinions and such before I continue any further development at this time. Right now it has many features, but with todays minds, more is always being thought of.

I know there is not a huge market for other bulletin boards because we have vBulletin & UBB out, but what about people that can not pay that $100+ price?

The price that has been set for the official beta release was to be $49.99 for use of the script and access to the members area for 1 year. After that one year was up it would be a $20 renewal price for an additional year. Within the members area you would receive updates until your year ran out and you would be able to download anything that was included within the area (such as mods, updates, graphics, ect).

I am not asking anyone to come to my site to purchase the script, I am asking those that have the time and would not mind helping develop this forum script further to come in, sign up, check it out and suggest some ideas.

If you do not feel like signing up, e-mail me, which ever. I would just like to get the word out about the board and everything. I will be signing up beta testers soon (they will get the board for half of the final decided price).

The website is:

I appreciate everyones time in reading this and for those that sign up and help out, thank you even more.

We are also looking for some partner sites to partner with us. They will be listed on a seperate page showing they are supporting us. They will also receive a discount on the board and perhaps free updates as long as the board is in use. Partners will have their banner/button/link placed on the seperate page and will be link to directly. Should anyone be interested, please e-mail me at support@carbonbb.com - we would like serious partners, no personal sites

We have had a few offers, we will be extending our offer for a little while longer for partnerships. If you are interested, please include what you are able to offer in the partnership that way it will make it easier on us to decide.

Thanks to everyone that has replied so far!

What makes your Forum software different compared to the free XMB for instance?

We will be offering priority support to our licensed members. You will be able to contact someone either online via AIM or ICQ, through e-mail, or through our support boards. We have even set up a small program to where if you do not receive a responce from someone of our staff within 48 hours or less, you will get an extra free years access to the members area

Within our members area you will be able to obtain special deals through hosting companies, web design companies, ect that will allow you a discount on their services just for being a licensed member of CarbonBB. Not only will you be able to receive great deals but you will be able to download any new updates the day they are released as well as any graphical dev. kits that we place in there as well.

We also plan on setting up an affiliate script that will allow you to gain a percentage of sales through advertising. We are looking at giving affiliates 15%-20% of each sale coming from your webite.

If you would like to know what all features that are included in our board you may visit http://www.carbonbb.com/product_details.shtml - this will give you the membership fee as well as a full list of features within the board.

The board is just starting, we plan on developing it more and more as time goes on.

Our company is built on support and dedication, we are not out to say that our board is any better than any other board out there. Every board starts ourt somewhere, that is what we are doing, just starting.

Should you have anymore questions, please feel free to contact me by e-mail at support@carbonbb.com.

This sounds interesting to me, but you have any screne shots of what this looks like? maybe a demo of the control pannel. So far it looks good, but I just would like to know more.

We have upgraded our support forums to the new v.90 beta which you may see by going to http://www.carbonbb.com/forums. Screen shots will be placed up soon enough, right now we are working to make sure everything is stable enough for release to the public at this time. We do not want the board to crash as soon as someone trys to install it.

The board is being tested on different systems also to make sure everything works out well (*NIX, Cobalt, Win2k, ect).

Should you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
