Hi folks, well like many others as I recently found out after visiting this forum...will be quitting *****. My site and my resold account sites were down this morning for 2 hrs. It wasnt the first time.

Will someone be so kind as to recommend a couple of outfits for me to look at for moving my resold accounts and my master account.

I need:
-e-commerce shopping cart availability for my account and my clients

-24hr phone tech support for me, would be nice to have it for my clients as well

-I guess similar account types in terms of bandwidth and disk space that Ci provided

-Unique IP's for each account

And I have a question, it seems like most providers make you sell your resold account space out of you own master account. One of the things that attracted me to ***** was that my resold accounts didnt have to come out of my master account and didnt affect my domains(masteraccounts) bandwidth.

Whats the standard practice?

Isnt the way Ci does it more desireable for resellers?

Have a great business day!

I would get a Rackshack account, seems to be a great way to go. Thats what I would do if they had the prices back when I was reselling. Be forwarned: ***** will notice you cancelling accounts and will catch up on billing on your account and slam you in one shot, and will probably shut down the sites...its happend before...

1. Don't let ***** know you're leaving until you have completed the movie
2. Instruct your bank to cancel any payments to *****
3. RackShack is nice, but only if you know what you're doing

Hope this helps. :)

yup, move all the accounts first, do the transfers via the registrars (ugh what a headache) then close the accounts. Dont do it one a t a time, the accounting dept will catch on.

There are plenty of hosts who will sell you resold accounts that are their own entity. They do not come out of your master account or affect your bandwidth.

Ventures Online gives resellers 50% off resold accounts, and you can resell any of their standard shared packages. 50% off is about the best deal you will find for any host set up this way.

Except for AITcom... they have resold domains for $2 ea. Also your credit card gets multi-billed, payments you make never post to your account, and they are a headache to deal with. Don't fall for 'em -- you get what you pay for.

It's a matter then of finding a host with the features you like. Take a look at some of the recommended hosts here and go with someone you think you'll like to work with.

Good luck! :)

Hi everyone, I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to post here. You input is greatly appreciated.

I am currently leaning toward www-webhosting.net

They dont use the buy a pie and resell parts of it type of plan.

I have to say, that my experience with ***** has not be terrible. My main concern is with their network stability. My perception is they have quite a few more problems than others. Latency issues, router difficulties and when I monitor a ping they are consistently lower than quite a few others. Just a point of information the fastest ping responses I have come across so far are from sites hosted with NetNation.

I like the flexibilty in plans that CI offers resellers and I especially like the toll free anonymous tech support offered by them for my resold accounts. I have a good luck as have my clients in getting through and getting help.

I am kinda poised for some growth. I am ready to install online billing and account management apps, signup application etc.. Then when incidences happen like this Monday morning where my site and many of my clients sites are down for 2 hrs, I kinda get the heebee jeebees. I need to make a decision soon before I get over committed (I dont have a huge client base right now) so that a move now woulnt be too difficult.

For me it has to do a lot with confidence in the network or lack of it...most of my clients know who I am...I sure would hate to have client that had a successful e-commerce site that was not functioning for 2 hours on a Monday morning during the holiday season. I understand networks aren't perfect...my perception is CI's is more imperfect than many.

Well once again thank you...for the therapy as well ;-)
I am still looking at other services and I am taking all your advice into consideration.
