my site (platinumize.net) has been down a total of 4 days. after the first day i didn't say anything. the second day i visited my host (http://www.inihosting.com)'s site and talk to someone using "live chat". i was told it should be up sometime that night. well the next day my site was still down. it's going on day 4 about to be 5 and my site is still down. no one have emailed me nor have anyone responded to my emails. i call and all i get is a recording. my site has been down before but never this long. the guys at ini have seem like good people up until now. i have NO idea what in sam he** is going on. do you think i should just drop ini and go find a new host? there is another draw back. i can't connect to my ftp to download my site. i have no back up nor is the control panel working. so if i go get a new host i would have to rebuild my site all over again from the ground up...*sighs*

5 days of downtime is a real long time in the hosting industry....
You must first ask support what the problem is. If they just eat around the bush look for a new host.

Have a great day :)

I shall have to agree, it is time to find a new host. You can't let them push you around their are way too many other good hosting companies out there.

5 days of downtime and you're still hosting with them? I would definitely try to get them to give you a free month of hosting per day of downtime, else leave.

I have seen some problems at INI over the last month or so...don't know if it's growing pains or other problems... My smpt and sendmail quit working a week ago... after three messages, a call to a full mailbox and a message through live chat... I finally got an email stating their ticket feature through out 4500 messages at them..and they are trying to weed through them.... they assure me they are not going out of business.. but not everyone can be this patient.. it has been a week for my site with no email going out and my membership is getting upset.. Great loss if I have to move, ONCE AGAIN, as up to now, they had been good..

*update*

my site came back up the night after i originally made this post...then it went down again 2 days later...it came back up..the day before it was time for them to charge my CC..they tried to but i had already called my visa ..ini wasn't allowed to charged my CC...and now my site back down. i don't really care i am moving it anyway. but why pay for a service when my site was down most of the month?

and becky i sent about 5 emails to them they never answered...imed them on AIM and they magically signed off... i use to love ini but now they just sux the tech support is horrible...half the time the mysql wouldn't be working...they never answered emails ....lawd they horrible

You know,
reading your messages about how bad your current situation is, and how good they'd been so far, it really seems to me they are a good company currently going through technical hell.

So, I'm really sorry for you, and I feel sorry for them too.
I believe, for those whose sites uptime isn't critical, you should give them one more chance. Why? Well, it they're so good, you don't want to go with another host who may turn out to be a complete scam.

(crossing fingers that we never go through hell like that)

5 days of downtime is unacceptable. Time for a new host , if going to stay you definately should not have to pay for your next month.

5 Days of downtime? Man that's nuts! "the second day i visited my host's site and talk to someone using "live chat". i was told it should be up sometime that night. " It should have been fixed within the hour. I would have gone crazy to let any of my sites down for more than a hour. Just thinking of the amount of lost business...
