Does anyone know if there is any way to use the AuthNet gateway for a Canadian company?

How about getting a merchant account at say, Moneris, could you use the AuthNet gateway?

Or do you know of any AuthNet trusted resellers who allow Canadian merchants?

I am still awaiting a reply from Authorize.net on this. Moneris told me I would have to ask Authorize.net about compatibility.

Hi Devildude,

Can I ask why you require the authorize.net gateway - are you trying to integrate into a particular application (like osCommerce for example?)

Im only asking because there are several options in Canada - and depending on what youre trying to do - you may have alternatives -

I do believe theres a Canadian Merchant using the authorize.net gateway - Ill do a quick look and see if I can find out who they are (though I can almost guarantee Moneris will not have this available)

Hello,

I would probably use Moneris gateway if most of the shopping carts/software and programmers I use weren't fluent in Authorize.net.

As it stands, I have one website just waiting for processing, and it is already configured for AuthNet, however it can use PSIgate as well, so that is an option I suppose.

Overall though, the merchant account/gateway business is a scary place for me. Lots of shady businesses out there I believe.

People like Moneris have a proven reputation. I was looking at Charge.com, they seem to allow Canadians and are AuthNet resellers.

Thank you,
Steen.

PS: I am interested in the AuthNet Canadian merchant is.

DevilDude,

If you are able to use PSiGate, then I would say go for it. Not only are they a great company to deal with, they are cheaper than Moneris. Also, PSiGate has more experience as far as online processing goes.

Good luck. Feel free to ask any further questions.

Cheaper? Really? When I talked to Moneris on the phone the other day I was quoted 3% and 20/25 cents per trans.

I found the 3% a bit high, but not unbearable.
The GateWay fees added up to $45/mo I believe.

How much is the whole deal at PSIGate?

Hi DevilDude,

Where are you located in Canada? and.... what type of products/services are you selling?

You do have another option - paradata/TD

I think moneris is a little cheaper the psigate - but, depending on your services/products - TD/paradata may be your best alternative...

Gargoyle, thank you for the suggestion.

Do you have a URL for the above?

Toronto Dominion owns this company?

Thx.

Hi DD,

Paradata is a gateway - with TD/First Data being the bank funding the merchant account...
