I have a friend who is interested in starting a new non-hosting related business. It is something that we both think he'd be good at, and he's excited about it, but I'd like to help him stay that way. Has anyone read any good business books that helped to get you psyched? I may get him one for Christmas is someone knows of a good one.
Thanks.

Hi,
I dunno if this really applies to non-UK people, but Richard Branson's biography really gave me that 'psyche'!
I recommend it!

Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" is required reading for anyone enterring any business ;)
Or, at least, it should be. It's old; but the techniques are still aplacable today.

I read a book called "Start Up" about 4 years ago. Probably the best book on the market. I forgot who wrote it, but it is incredible!

What kind of business is your friend starting? I've got a few suggestions, but they may not apply, depending on his choice (they're not about general business)...

Sounds like an interesting choice! Unfortunately I don't have any experience in this area, and as such haven't read any inspiring books that would be of use.
Best of luck to your friend though! :)

Hi!
Here are two must reads for everbody..
I very highly recommend these books.
1) Bussiness at the speed of thought - Bill Gates. I don't use any Microsoft products.... But Bill gates is a real cool guy and knows human nature inside out.
2) Customers.com - Patricia Seybold .
A real good book about customer care.
It changed my entire view of doing bussiness. I realised that as in object oriented programming objects are the core, in bussiness you customer is the core. If your product is good but there is no need for such a product it's a waste. If you have many clients but don't know what care means then you're not going to have many customers...... the list just goes on...
Have a great day :)
regards
