Here's what I would like to have in a UNIX hosting plan:

JSP 1.1 support
Java Servlet 2.2 support
mySQL
>100 mb disk space
PHP 4.0x
SSI
>10 pop3 accounts

Any ideas or experiences?

Here's a thread which will partly answer your question :

I believe HostRocket also supports JSP, but you might wanna check with them re : Servlets.

I understand that all the new servers at Alabanza have these features.
Many of the older servers are being upgraded but its all a bit haphazard at the moment so a lot of hosts are not advertising these services yet.

Thanks for the replies, I read the previous thread which appeared to be a month old. I assumed that a lot of hosts/plans would change in a month.

thanks

OK, probably a dumb question, but... When I go to Alabanza.com I can't find any information about their hosting plans? Can you help?

thanks

Ah,
Well thats because Alabanza does not provide web hosting.
They lease servers to web hosting companies complete with the automation and management software needed to run the business.

There are a couple of threads listing companies based there:

By the way, I have old web design clients hosted at various Alabanza hosts and I have noticed that the upgrades have not been applied uniformly by all of the hosts.
Some control panels now have webmail or java servlets.
Some have even inherited Virtual Name Servers when they never paid for them.
It used to be that every Alabanza control panel was the same, now there are a lot more variations.

I haven't come across a single Alabanza host support JSP.
