Does anyone have any idea if a person doesn't have paypal in his/her country, would it be possible to use a different country?

I tried to register at paypal, but it doesn't have my country.

Any solution?

wouldn't work. The minute paypal finds out, they would freeze your account and your money.

What country are you in?

Lebanon.

Would paypal care enough if I noticed them to add my country? It would REALLY help me pay some of my "international" bills.

I think that PayPal adds countries as it gets enough users from that country to justify it.

Does paypal charge addtional money for a transaction to take place? Or is it free?

How would PayPal know to add countries, if those countries' citizens are not allowed to join? I'm sure they probably need enough e-mail requests to justify it, which most people probably don't bother with.

I would advise you to e-mail them, someuser.

And yes, they take out a certain percentage out of each transaction, if you are a Business/Premier account, to accept credit cards.

Here is the fee structure

The other problem would be withdrawing from Paypal to your local bank. I am in India and I cant withdraw to my local bank but I am allowed to create an account and verify with my credit card. If I have to withdraw I need an American Bank account. In fact it would be the best method of paying even for local transactions of large or even very small amounts. I am just waiting....

I suspect until they get a wave of inquiries from users in your country, they will just go "leba..who?". PayPal, being as big of company as they are, must effectively study the laws and such of each country, as well as any histories of fraud which have come out of that country (sadly, if there is a consistant track record, they won't ever approve that country), and until there is sufficient interest from your citizens, they won't invest the time or resources into it.

Of course, everything above is speculation of how their process works, it seems to be a fair assumption.

I think if Paypal added lebanon to the list it would be a good thing, there are millions of Lebanese living out of the country (I think more then in the country itself) and many send money to their relatives still in Lebanon. It would be faster and cheaper to send it through Paypal, I don't think Fraud would be a major concern because there's very little history of fraud coming from this country.

I think Stormpay.com is a good alternative.

That is very true. In Lebanon we have around 3 million people living, however, OUTSIDE Lebanon we have a number exceeding the 13 million... :)

Advice: Don't even think about registering your info as from another country. When they find that your IP address does not match the country that you said you are in, they're likely to freeze your account.

As the others have suggested, emailing Paypal and perhaps directing them to a few government sites stating the reliability of existing financial infrastuctures might help.

Few month ago I tried to register using other country. I still have account with about $50 on it, but i can't do anything with those money. Until i enter some valid bank account data with address being in country that i used to sign up i can't do anything with money.

But i don't really care. I use 2checkout to accept payments and my visa to pay and don't need paypal. And i don't deal with any company that accepts only paypal.
