View Full Version : Who else offers you a 6-Pack?
2Grumpy 12-01-2001, 11:58 PM
After offering up our www.3-95.com plan last weekend, which stirred up so much discussion (and a nice batch of orders, thank you one and all who signed up, you know who you are), I had a few people ask about bulk packages.
Now, being the child of "Dixie Internet Systems" what else could www.3-95.com do but offer you the only 6-Pack of Web Hosting on the Internet?
So that's exactly what we're offering.
Check out the 6-Pack. (http://www.3-95.com/index.php?show=info6)
Each plan is a www.3-95.com plan, we're not doing like some places do where you split your bandwidth and space up amongst all your multiple sites, each site gets the full treatment.
200 Megs storage
5 Gigs BW
25 Emails (or more if you need 'em)
and more (click here (http://www.3-95.com/))
Of course for those of you who can't handle a 6-Pack by yourself, you can order just one :D

Aww now I'm curious, could you PM me what it said? or email?
Thanks
Get-Hosted.com 12-02-2001, 04:38 PM This confused me... What are you offering? 6 accounts with each 200BM and 5GB bandwidth? Or... I don't see anywhere that really tells anyone what it is, especially on the website.

Yes each domain you setup is a full 3-95 plan by itself, no sharing of anything.

What if someone had 2 sites... one that used 9 gigs of bw a /month and one that used 1 gig. Wouldn't a plan that SHARES amongst sites be better?

Yep it would.
I'll let you in on a little secret: we manually monitor bandwidth, it's not automated, well, not really, when a new account is setup mod_throttle is set to for 20gigs a month. If someone uses more than that (or near that) they shouldn't be using a 3.95 a month hosting plan that offers 5 gigs. So if a customer with multiple sites has one that's a little hoggish then fine. However a site pulling that much bandwidth (more than double) should really be hosted on a beefier plan to begin with.

Oh.... well, on your website it says you actually allocate 8 gigs per site in case someone goes a little over... so it's now 20 gigs allocated?

If anyone complains I'll set 'em back to 8 :)
I haven't had a customer break 3/4 of a gig yet, of course I only got 70, and took my first web hosting customer Oct 24th. But Nov just ended with no one going near a gig. So it's cool so far, when it becomes a problem I actually will start using a 3 gig overflow limit or so.
I can see Ralph Nader on my doorstep now.
Ralph: "you told these people you allocated 8 gigs in case they went over, correct?"
me: "yup"
Ralph: "but in reality, you set the limit to 20?"
me: "yeah"
Ralph: "I demand you use truth in advertising!"
:D
thesmallguyshost 12-03-2001, 10:04 PM I'm just curious if you could share the trick how you get by the 5 day rule of posting another offer? I just tried posting another offer and the bbs wouldn't let me because it said I have to wait 5 days. How did you figure out how to post 2 within a day of each other?

I posted the ads almost 7 days apart, people just love talking about my ads for some reason :D
11-25-2001 11:07 PM look at my first add, that's the post date
I posted this one on 12-01-2001 09:58 PM nearly 6 full days later (not just 5).
People just love talking about my ads, and every reply puts the ad back at the top of the list. I even didn't reply to the last 4 or 5 replies to my last ad so Chicken wouldn't bust my nads for bumping the thread.

You're right... my fault... I was looking at last reply date.

Nary a nad I bust! Bumping is posting two posts in a row, though you are free as a little birdy to reply to questions. If it gets out of control, an email ye shall receive.
