Hey all,

I'm planning on starting a company (not really webhosting, but we may do that later once I know more about server management myself) and I was wondering if any of you know how much it is to register it as an S Corporation (or if there is a better option for an internet company?)

If you want more details on what we're planning on doing, I'll post again, but I'm not sure if that's relevant to my question so I'll save some time and not explain it for now:P

$70 in california for an Limited Liability Corporation.

www.mycorporation.com will file it all for you for a $149 fee.

cool, thanks.

Does anybody have recommendations on lawyer folk who will do this for a good price and/or does anybody know if there exists different "qualities" of lawyers to register this or does it not matter and they just have to do standard paperwork?

I can't speak for California, but in New York, it's all standard paperwork that just needs to be filled out. Of course, the quality of the lawyer does work in to the equation if your lawyer doesn't even know what the "standard paperwork" is, but any decent lawyer should be able to help.

More importantly, you may want to speak to a good accountant first.
