That got me the first 70-80 customers. After that word of mouth slowly started to spread. Customers were happy with the price and service so they started to register their second or even third site with me. Also they started to refer their family friends and colleagues to me. It's a slow process. It's like a snowball effect. The start is slow but the larger the ball gets the harder it rolls... mantra 12-02-2001, 12:26 AM It takes time. People may hear your site but may not visit it the first time around. But when they start to hear it over and over again they will start to visit it. That is when you will start getting some hits. So just gotta be patient and try to advertise as much as possible within your budget. Thanks. avara 12-02-2001, 07:18 AM Originally posted by Pilgrim I invested about $ 1000.- in paid google advertisements during the first month. That's less than $15 per signup -- how did you manage that, any tips? ;) Business for us isn't going too badly either, just got 3 new signups this weekend for example. Word of mouth seems to be kicking in here as well, as customers are extremely happy with our service and quick friendly support. 2Grumpy 12-04-2001, 03:52 AM Originally posted by avara 70-80 customers by spending only a grand on Google? I signed up more customers from Nov 20th-Now as from Oct 16th-Nov 20th. Word of mouth is really kicking in. Got several customers with multiples and several referrals already. Jedito 12-04-2001, 07:37 AM Did you submited your site to all the hosting directories around? here you have a list of more than 100 http://www.webhostmagazine.com/wf/whfinders.asp It's a boring job, but it worth. We have more than 200 daily unique visits. Also host some sites in exchange of a banner or a link it help a lot. bobcares 12-04-2001, 04:58 PM "Don't give up though the pace seems slow.. you might suceed with another blow, Success is failiure turned inside out, the silver tint to the clouds of doubt. rest if you must .... but don't you quit.... " :) My advice would be to list your site on all the directories. Get around and do some local marketing. Go to as many forums as possible.. Also try some targeted marketing. I'm sure you'd do well... just don't give up. Have a great day :) regards amar |
