I was wondering if anyone here has upgraded there AutoSetup ( now directphp.com ) and had any problem? I am on the last step of converting the old database and I am getting an error. Anyone else have this problem?

Well, I'm definatly not a MySql expert but this seems easy enough, so let me try :)
The program is trying to connect to a MySql database and fails because either the database does not exist or the user id/pw you specified are not correct.
Take a loot at convertautosetup.php line 64 and see if the info there is correct. My best bet is that dbasename@localhost is a non-existing database and is a default setting.
Looks like you missed a step in the installation somewhere.
Then again...I'm paying the $ 100.00 for having it installed by Kurth so don't put your trust in me ;)

How many of you are going to pay the $299 yearly fee?
Just curious.
The Cobalt Developers list is complaining about this program.
I kind of agree with them on it.
Here is a exerpt of what was posted on the list:
""Agreed. I look at the pricing page first.
When I see whacko software leasing/time
licenses/per site deals/etc I'm outta there and
they don't get a bookmark.
This gettting more and more common. Someone starts
a hosting operation, gets to like the MRC
(monthly recurring income), doesn't like dealing
with customers, creates hosting admin software or
other type of software useful to the hosting provider industry, wants to keep the MRC income and prices SOFTWARE product on the MRC model.
No thanks. Give us a flat price per server. Charge
for genuine upgrades with new features but not for
bug fixes. Sell support subscriptions. But don't
try to be my partner without paying 50% of my overhead."
I am really thinking about just sticking with my $99 script.
I will install the new for my free year and try it, but after the year is up, I doubt I may stick with it.
The additions are nice, don't get me wrong, but $299 per year? And that is not a guarantee the price will stay there.

I just looked at the sub domain part.
Does the sub domain add a new site or does it point to a directory?
If it adds a new site, I dont want it.
I would rather see if this software becomes more promising

I could not find the answer to this question on the site. Is the price per server or per hosting company?

I am really happy with the autosetup, I am going to stay on that platform and build from it. I did signup for my free year though and may play with the new software.
I am not knocking Richard, but he needs to make the interface look a whole heck of a lot more professional before he starts charging like he is.
We are very happy with the original version and it sure is nice to not have to worry about setups.

It's per server, per year.
Thats right. $ 299.- per server per year. :(
Great program, but other then the free year I am staying away from it and keep on using the original autosetup.
$ 90.- per server ok. $ 299.- per year per server=not ok

Received this email from Kurth just 2 minutes ago:
Because I have had so many complaints about the new pricing structure of Auto Control Pro. I have talked with my partner and made the decision to change it to a one time price of 299.00 I hope this makes everybody happy.

I think it should be $299 per software purchase as long as it is on your own servers. I have 3 of them, but do not sign people up on all of them at the same time.
I like the change on the fee. Whew, $299 per year after while would get up their, esp if you are a budget host.
Just to update my origonal intention for this post:
After many emails to and from Richard, I eventually found out that the database conversion file included in the zip file was the wrong one. He sent me the right one via email, and its all good now. I can't get subdomains to work, and I need to get phpMyAdmin working for my clients now. Other than that, its a nice piece of software. It will make things a lot easier for my clients to do things. I especially like the trouble ticket system. Awesome!. I do agree that for the price, it should look at least a bit better however.
