i was wondering, out of everyone here at webhostingtalk, who here celebrates Christmas? i know that some don't because of religious reasons and others might not for their busy schedules. this is just out of curiousity mainly..

i'm not a religious person myself (i am kind of, but i don't follow any mainstream religion, more my own making of sorts) but i do celebrate Christmas with friends who do, which is always fun.

who would have ever thought my first thread would be about this.. i'm planning my holiday escape right now.. so it was on my mind. :D

I'm going to celebrate Christmas... right here, in my room in college, all by myself.

This being the last day of term, everyone is packing up and leaving now. Except me. My stupid scholarship requires that I stay in the UK.

So while everyone else is going home to celebrate Christmas with their families, I have to stay here, in a foreign country, without even any of the friends I've met while I've been here.

Live sucks.

PS. I'm probably the only person in college who isn't drunk right now. I managed to miss the end-of-term party because I
1. was too busy doing research, and
2. didn't realize that it was the end of term.

i always do X-mas. :) I also make sure I travel half way around the world so I get a white X-mas with snow and Santa.

Nothing like celebrating the birth of capitalism :)

I celebrate Christmas one way or another and this Christmas I will be in "moving" mode so I will most likely be setting up operations in my new pad and cleaning...

I hope to catch some vintage holiday films on cable if possible in the evening along with a turkey sandwich :)

Well I tell ya, a scholarship to a foreign country might be nice tho...everything has its ups and downs...

I got this girl I am talking to a shirt she wanted to bad, and well I told her I got her a Victoria Sectrets 2 for 15 thong deal...she is thinking I am being for real, and she tells me she will burn them...I have never seen a female so adamant about burning a thong...Well I am going to wrap it up in a VS bag and I cant wait to see the look on her face...

Even if I was a chrisitna, I can surely bet, that the apostles of Jesus did not celbreat his birthday, if i truly wantted to folllow the teachings of religon, the apostles of Jesus, were the best of mankind, and if they did not celevbrate his birthday, then sueitly its an innovation in religon. And who has the right to legislate in religon? Only God. If you legislate inb religon and people follow you its like they are giving some of their worship to you and ofllwing you rwar iunstead f god, Christmas has nothing to do with What Jesus Christ and his teachings were about

However, i am not a christian, so i do not vbelive hge was the son of god.

Rather he was a prophet and a messenger like Adam, Noah Moses, Sulemian etc.

you mean Santa right?

... and how he was nailed to a reindeer to save the corporate world from tax hikes. Just before he died he called to the IRS for forgiveness to no avail. But then he was resurrected through a buyout of his assets and went on to become a world dominating conglomerate.

Just kidding. :)

Merry Christmas! Isn't it strange how sudden the Christmas sneaks up on you when you're busy!??

Cheers,

It seems like it was yesterday when people were waiting for the year 2000 and they had a million gallon of water in their basement.

I know what you mean. I've been thinking I have plenty of time to get the shopping done, then I realized it's only 3 odd weeks away! This year's flown past so quick I swear it's missing a few months :)

i agree.. a few months are missing ;) and i think one week just passed and i didn't even notice.. it felt like a day

i have one week to shop (next week) then the next week to wrap.. and the next week is finally Christmas. i love christmas because it just gives us a reason to buy something for someone special to make them happy, which in turn makes me feel happy. which is why i think Christmas is really a holiday for everyone, not just religious people. :)

I think we should 'decorate' this forum - revamp the colours with something a little more seasonal?

Actually I agree. Spending so much time online I tend to miss the whole X-mas 'hum' until I start to see things on websites. We just stuck Santa up on ours again from last year, and play our small part in making the net smell like candy *lol*

Actually that was in 1999. In 2000 people did not really much care about the true new millenium.

 Christmas? Don't know about anyone else, but for some reason it doesn't feel like Christmas this year.

Maybe it's because there is NO (zero...zip...not a flake..nadda) snow on the ground.

Plan to just spend time with family.

BTW.....Merry Christmas Everyone ..i wish all of you a safe and happy holiday. :)
