Hey all just a quick question I had this particuler question put towards me and I don't have an answer " Why do you as a hoster need an IP address"
Does an IP address do anything for you is their some little feature you lose if you don't have one
thanks

Really now the only reason to have an IP address is for SSL certs. Every past obsticle has been really removed. The last big barrier was legacy web browsers and well that has all been overcome by upgrades.
There are plenty of good reasons to have one for each site, but none of those reasons will hold water with Arin.

Like the guy said....you don't need an IP address unless you want to use SSL or anonymous FTP.
Yet some ppl would kill and die to get a dedicated IP address just because "they want one"
Ask them for a logical reason and you get many reasons...none of them logical
