Hello everyone,

I am having a little problem ,

I have two pc and they are connected to each other through lan card , the second pc accesses the internet through the first pc .

The problem is that i cant access the websites on one of my servers from the client pc , i can from the other pc

everyone else whom i have asked in this world can access those sites so this is some problem in my pc

when i enter the site url and press enter it instantly says cannot find page , it shows that withint a fraction of a second
it doesnt even look over the internet to check if the site is available .

it looks like its somewhere in my pc cached to show those url with those ip to just show as not available. because for other sites which are not available it takes some time to tell me they are not available it takes two or 3 seconds to show they arent available but in this case its instant.

if anyone has any idea how to fix this problem , i would be thank ful to you.

So is the connection through a patch cable going from one PC to the other? (if so, is it a crossover cable?)

It seems like the connection is not even making it to the second PC.
Can you access anything online from the second PC?
Ping the first PC from the second PC and first verify connectivity.

(and just FYI this is not a Windows problem, it's a network problem :p)

because i am currently sitting on the second pc and running msn messenger , browsing wht etc :P

just that particular site doesnt open from this pc , if it would have been network problem then i wont be posting here from the second pc , would have been from the first one :D

Ah, so you can access the Net, and go online, just not that one site...Very strange indded.

Are you using a fake IP on that PC? Maybe that certain site allows only connections from a real IP address...Just a thought, I'm not sure

Is it one sight or several sites that you can't access from the errant computer. ??

What type of internet connection are you using. ???

I recommend ADSL with a router modem if at all possible.

No , I am not using any fake ip , both of my pc have one ip on the internet because the connection which is shared between these two pc is a dialup

It used to be hotmail a while ago , then now it is one of my personal site on one of my server , the other sites on the server do open but only that one doesnt.
