cpanel box has sshd dead, but i still have WHM access.

tried to restart sshd but always gives an error.

is it possible to open another port or open telnet via WHM or so?

any other tricks or something rather than contacting DC ?

Sounds like Openssl issues. You can't open a port via Telnet and neither can you start it from WHM .

Contact the DC :)

You can try to reinstall SSH from WHM RPM section or risk installing telnet just to get logged in to do repairs otherwise the NOC would have to look

if you've tried restarting it and it doesn't work, and you have root ftpee access, you can f around with your init config to run a telnet type thing to get you going

ill try installing ssh via RPM thru WHM or wait for DC :)

I guess for such issues, safer to wait for the DC to fix it , just in case anytime happen can be a big prob if handled remotely.

Thats why they invented the serial console. :P ;)

Did you have a chance to see if the RPM installed fixed it? I would like to know how you made out with this problem. Just in case we run into this in the future.

well DC fixed it and i didn't give it a try to install via RPM

what was the problem? did you try to change something in the configs or install or ... ?

my admin killed sshd and while making new ssh he lost the connection, so install
