Hello,
I have dial up right now and was looking into getting cable/broadband dsl. I've checked a few companies already, and their service are not available in my area (verizon, and another local phone company, earthlink, & @home.com). Can someone help me and list some url's which provide cable/dsl nationwide so I can check to see it's availability in my area? It would be much appreciated, thanks. I'm just dying with 28k:(

If your local phone provider can't provide you with DSL then you're basically stuck with not getting DSL. Cable's probably different, but again, depending on the area may be difficult for you to get. Check with all your local ISPs about the cable. And if that doesn't work you may want to look into satellite (sp?).

You're joking right?
I've had nothing but a horrible experience from day one with @home. The local support department knows as much about computers as I did when I was using my Wang about 9 years ago. Heaven forbid they would know when their entire network is down.
Our local Telus ADSL works great.

What? Rogers is still using them, Shaw is still using them. All the cable providers go through the @Home network. What are you talking about?

Yeah, when they don't have a BC-wide outage just when you're 98% done downloading a 10GB file.
