It is found in the black market in our country. PS2 is still restricted to Japan only. If I am not mistaken.

Its out in the Black Market. Of what I heard there are 2 reasons it isnt available in the US officialy as yet,
1. One can Play DVD's on it
2. If you put enough of the chips together, you can use it to make/launch misiles.

It's out in the US - each store which stocked the PS2 had a pre-determined no. of PSes to supply, and lines began forming outside the stores 2/3 days before the PS went on sale.

Yep, they left stores this morning. A couple people I know camped out in front of target to get one. Don't know if either/both got one, but it's a little insane in my opinion. If you ignore the fact that it's out for a few months you'll probably be able to get it for half the price it's at now. Unless it keeps selling out... There was something in the paper this morning about a group of friends who had also camped out and once they got it, they basically turned the 'turning of of the playstation 2' into some holy ceremony.

My friends and I have gone around for days looking for it. So just hope any of you got it and... want to sell :D (seriously). It's for him, not for me, though, but I got 5% commision, j/k :D. There are so many news saying people are crazy to buy it. I think just waiting for a few more months, no money now :(.

just think of it .. a poung of gold, or a box of Playstation 2 ... heck you can make more money with the Playstations a couple of weeks before christmas (ebay .. hehe)

I'd rather have game consoles selling for that high of a price than stupid talking mutant owl-rats (furbys). There like $10 now... Annoying as heck too.

Talking about PlayStation 2, I don't know when will they be available in my country. The good thing in there, and bad thing for the U.S companies is: There's no copyright. I went back there last year and played many of PS1 games with the price of... $2/CD. The same thing happens to computer games and softwares. Photoshop 6.0? $2 :D. Flash 5? $2 :D. Having said that, when PS2 becomes available there, man, it'll be wonderful for me spending 2 months vacation next year :D.
