With providers offering:

Servers for
$99 a month with 100-300 GB of Bandwidth

Its really hurting the webhosting industry as any person can simply start up and offer 10 - 20 GB plans for like $5 a month to end users. It looks like that the price wars will continue to go on.

How can hosts using Level3 or Globix carriers compete with cogent?

No, it opens a whole new type of web host.

Evolve, adapt, or die at the claws of the new predator.

Besides it ain't just price, it's service and such too.

Those $99 servers ain't for everybody (whoo boy are they ever not for everybody) you need to be at least familiar with what being server administrator means. I guess I'm just jaded, I've got 11 years experience in high volume tech support, enterprise level servers, lan administration and such. I'm just awed at the people who get these dedicated servers who _literally_ do not only not know why telnet is bad, but who don't know what telnet IS.

When it gets to the point everyone can get a Rackshack server and run it, I'll probably have to get a job flipping burgers again! hehe

And whatever gave you the silly idea the price wars would ever STOP?

1000.00 for 100 mbps from cogent is for connectivity.

it`s $3000.00 for 100 mbps if you are selling services.
