I see that Technohost banished all of their shared hosts to cyberspace without informing them first.
Just as well...
The service pretty much sucked, anyway.

That is untrue!! All clients are being picked up by our partner company AdeHOST.com as we our focusing on dedicated sales!

Not true may ASS!
I'm not going to argue with you like others do.
I can see from the posts that I'm not the only one left out to dry...
It's clear to ALL that your service is less than standard.
Not true?
Did I receive noticification that my site was dumped?
No!
Was I told before hand that I would have to change my IP?
No!
Was I informed in advance that I would have to reload all my html files to another site?
No!
WELL?
Tell me again what is UNTRUE about my previous post?
BTW? What's the address for that "MY WebHost Sux.com" site again?
Feel free to check out my "no longer in service site" at wHerndon.com...

Well I'm one of your customers and you absolutely did not notify me! Sure, you posted it on your website, which I checked AFTER my site stopped working! Sorry to bruise your ego but I don't make it a habit to check your website everyday! I doubt many of your other customers do either! I have NEVER, EVER received an unsolicited e-mail from techNOhosts; either BEFORE or AFTER any downtime issue. Even when your customer support personnel *graced* me with a reply to my e-mails asking when my site would be back up, I soon realized that they were just lying to buy themselves more time. And you tell me this is INCORRECT, I have e-mails that I can post to prove it!

Also, I love the touchy feely posting one of your tech support guys posted on my ftp site. Well it wasn't actually my site. It was during the time that most of your shared customer's ftp sites were hitting a common directory. He assured that he was working hard to get everything worked out and to be patient. I almost thought you were starting to pull things together. But I suppose you were just buying time and trying to thwart off people asking for their money back. I've given up hope of ever getting back my money. Yes, I tried. Multiple times. Now I'm just determined to seek out any legitimate means to try to let others know what a crappy hosting company you are!

ACTUALLY there was a message posted on our site 5 days before the cutoff about adehost.com Which informed all clients to have a copy of their html files and to change their dns.

If you are a shared client then you were dumped.
They say that a "partner" ??? is going to pick you up, but you have have to redirect your IP and reupload all your html files.
I haven't checked to see if the "partner" will let me logon to the control panel yet.
I can't even remember the name...
And now TechnoHost is down again.
What'd Chris say in that other thread? 12% uptime last month?
Go figure.

wHerndon
11-29-2001, 11:24 PM
It was 0.98% uptime.
my mistake.

Note, I've edited the thread to reflect the name of the host. If you're just interested in namecalling, then the post will be thrown. Heresay by another member has been tossed. Direct experiences only please.

Wouldn't at least an email have been appropriate here?
Five days of notice on your website just isn't enough.
An email would solve would have saved a lot of problems.

Actually we're not down, we just mirrored our site over to another server in the rack.

wHerndon and jfarrow, what is the relation that you two have to each other, if any? Are you both clients of technohost? Are you clients of eachother?

wHerndon
11-30-2001, 06:40 AM
I suppose you could say that we were (past tense) clients.

jfarrow

I am the actual client of Technohosts. wHerndon is a friend of mine that I unfourantly convinced to move his domain to technohosts. My account supported 5 domains.

Here in my office we are two clients of Technohosts. At the moment the migration to Adehost isn't going nowhere.

MY EXPERIENCE
I wrote quite clearly about my experience and my situation in another thread: I'm waiting for my money back as my 30 days trial hasn't expired yet.
I had problems in getting in contact with Chris Gentile, but now he gave me an email address that at least doesn't bounce back. If I will get my money back remains to see.
I'll keep the forum posted.

MY FRIEND'S EXPERIENCE
The other client of Technohost is a friend of mine who showed me the service.
He's out in the cold at the moment: Adehost doesn't know what to do and says they are in trouble transferring the accounts. I tell you what my friend told me, not direct experience.
My direct experience with Adehost was less than helpful, but I'm not interested in dealing with them.
My friend, however, was ready to use the new account on Adehost, but to date, nothing is working there.

As you can understand, if for you guys in the US is such a problem to deal with Technohosts, go figure how can it be hard for us from Italy.

Marco

ADEHOst support also told me that they haven't xfered the sites, yet.
I'm willing to give them a chance.
After all, they certainly couldn't do worse than TechnoHosts.

I believe Technohost said files wouldn't be transferred, and that you'd need to make a backup yourself.

ok I Got a question I go there now it says coming soon. What about that?. Did someone else buy the site out to?hmmm. I'm wondering.

Then wHerndon shouldn't be posting about how Technohosts, they should be posting about you. While they are hosted with technohosts under you, there seems to be no need to cover the same ground under two usernames and only jfarrow should be posting their experiences.
