That to me actually seems a little expensive. Work out the yearly cost. It would be cheaper to buy your own server and colocate.

Dedicated hosting is almost always more expensive in the long run but cheaper in the short term. Also, with dedicated hsoting you dont have to fix hardware problems, you cnan leave when your contatc ends and get the latest and greatest, in shrot its like a car lease, you kep paying and you pay more but you have the cutting edge thing and its not your to worry about (as much).

As for the ram, 512 is certainly a deceent amount but it's nothing great and while $600 is a lot less than many hosts may charge for a dual 800, I can sure beat it as do many hosts in this forum. Still, if it suits your needs, good enough... good luck :)

Looks like it's a mistatement. I wonder if they are going to honour it. I don't see the point of netsolutions and teds ' comments........your post meant to tease Burst for mistatement....but looks like those two are still sleeping. :o :D :D

Special 11 Dual 800 Mhz, 512GB RAM ,18GB(2) SCSI , 100GB Unlimited IPS* $0.00 $599.95

Netsolutions, Mahinder highlighted the point where there is a mistatement of server specs offered by Burst. The server specs stated is 512 GB of ram. Can you tell me how much such a server would cost ? And where can I find such a server ? What motherboard allows me to have 512 GB of Ram ?

If such a server exists, I don't think it is expensive with that price. Seems like you are still sleeping.......wake up.......
   .........What do you mean by bashing ? It is obvious that you don't see the intention of Mahinder's post. Now in your reply, you still do not see the highlighted point.......go and wash your face...........

Please get your facts right before accusing others of bashing you.
Show me a place to buy the same specs of the server, then colocation price, bandwidth........and that adds up to less that the annual price of Burst.

It's a misprint - BurstNet confirmed it was a misprint on AIM this morning.

It should be 512MB vs. 512GB.

yea I have one of the specials and it is awesome so far. That is kind of high and they charge you a little for cpanel cause they own it LOL. I'm sure There is other providers that could beat that price there is a few in mind actually.

4Gb is getting quite common, and I think I saw one that would handle 8Gb too....

If you are considering any kind of motherboards, those Motherboards of enterprise servers can take 16 GB , which I have seen sometime ago. Not sure if they are breakthrough on that amount.

For 1U servers, I have seen one that can take 6 GB of ram. Not 8 GB. Where can we get the 8 GB max. ram motherboard ?
