Who the hell is u-bulk.com and emaillistclub.com

Want to see what I found a u-bullk.com

http://u-bulk.com/features.htm

You'll never have to be worried about losing your ISP account again, instead, concentrate on your web hosting account which can be VERY CHEAP! A full featured web host costs as little as $5 a month! If your site is shut down, simply find another host! There are thousands out there! Nothing to do with your ISP!

That is only part of it. It seems I am on their "Recommened hosting list"

What do I do?

MilkMan

I like how he talks about sending out unsolicited email yet his website has a No Spam policy.

Where was the recommended hosting list at? I didn't see it.

I say keep an eye on him and warn every host that he signs up with.

I am sorry, but I feel they are sucking innocent people into their servivce.

Again, I really dislike this on their site:

"You'll never have to be worried about losing your ISP account again, instead, concentrate on your web hosting account which can be VERY CHEAP! A full featured web host costs as little as $5 a month! If your site is shut down, simply find another host! There are thousands out there! Nothing to do with your ISP! "

What is this suppose to mean? That you can scam hosting companies?

They seem to have no clue what it does to honest little web host.

This whole situation just burns me.

BTW, my user did write back and say that they were not recommending host. They showed them where to find one, i.e. search engines, hostsearch.com.

Want to see what I found "INSIDE"

A host Black list, yuppie, I'm on it, GREAT!

Host Blacklist New!

Upon the requests of our customers we decide to create a "host blacklist". It lists web hosts that are very bulk unfriendly or become very bulk friendly after being chosen by too many of our customers. Currently here are the hosts on the list:

Hostmatters - http://www.hostmatters.com
Digital Zones - http://www.dzones.net
NPS Internet Solutions http://www.npsis.com - Very unfriendly!
Extreme Presense - http://www.extremepresence.com
Bull Dot - http://www.bulldot.com
Prevo Network - http://www.prevo.net
Primenet Hosting http://www.primenethosting.com
Vortechhosting - http://www.vortechhosting.com
Sector Link - http://www.sectorlink.com
Globol Internet Solutions - http://www.gisol.com
Hostway - http://www.hostway.com
ADDR - http://www.addr.com (used by too many customers!)
Internet Planners - http://www.internetplanners.com (used by too many customers)

Wow, look at this too..

Getting Started!

As advertised, our service is totally web based and there is no setup work on your side. All you need is a web host. Please follow these steps and you may be able to send bulk emails today!

Step One: Domain Name

If you already have a domain name that is not in use then please skip this step. If not you need to register a domain name. A good domain name is YOUR PROPERTY. It's YOUR permanent address on the Internet. We have found the cheapest place to register your .com/.net/.org domain name: ONLY 8.95/year!

http://www.godaddy.com

Note: Do not select to host your site with Godaddy when they ask you to do so. Please select "I don't have a hosting provider yet. I'll park it here for free." when you are asked to enter the DNS data informatin.

Step Two: Find a host

Once you registered your domain name please go ahead and find a host. Please do NOT use the host that hosts your current website (if you have one). You can easily find a full featured host for as little as $5 a month. Please note that for your benefit you must find a host that:

1, Paid monthly, NO contract, NO set up fee

2, UNIX/Linux system that allows custom CGI script (most do!). DO NOT find any Windows NT/2000 host.

3, Network connection should be at least a T3 connection. An OC-3 would be nice.

4, If possible, try to find a plan that comes with a unique/static/dedicated IP. It's NOT a must but with that you can start sending bulk email faster.

Here are some large host search engines where you can EASILY find such hosts.:

http://www.hostsearch.com

http://*************

http://webhosters.com

http://findsp.com

http://findwebspace.com

http://hostindex.com
http://www.webhostdir.com

http://hostglobal.com

http://www.tophosts.com

http://www.ispcheck.com

http://www.all-hosts.com

Attention: Upon the requests of our customers we decide to create a "host blacklist". It lists web hosts that are very bulk unfriendly or become very bulk friendly after being chosen by too many of our customers. Click here for the list.

Please report bulk-unfriendly hosts that you know to host@u-bulk.com so that we can update this list.

We DO NOT recommend any web host for you because we don't want all our customers go to the same hosts. That's not good for both you and me. However IF YOU DO HAVE PROBLEMS finding a host please email us at host@u-bulk.com and we'll try to find one for you.

After you find a host simply order at their website. When asked if you would like a new domain name or transfer an existing one please choose to transfer. It's the domain name that you just registered.

Please DO NOT EVER mention our name when you find the host! Thank you! Also do NOT tell your host what you are going to do with their service! ^_^

Step Three:

Wait until your host sends you a welcome email when your account is set up. This email should contain your FTP username and password. If you know how to change your domain name's DNS information then do it. Otherwise we can do it for you but we'll also need your domain name's username and password. Please fill out the form below and we'll have your bulk system set up very soon!

Your name:
Your email address:
Your login username for this customers area:
Your password for this customers area:
Your webhost's URL: http://
Your domain name:
If your hosting plan comes with a unique IP (you can find it in the welcome email sent by your host if you have one) enter it here: (optional)
Your FTP username:
Your FTP password:
Your domain name registrar (place where you registered your domain name) :
http:// (optional. Required if you cannot update your domain DNS setup yourself)
Your username to access your domain name account: (optional)
Your password to manage your domain name account: (optional)
Any comments: (Please copy&paste the welcome email sent to you by your host here.)

IF you have any problems, please click here for customer support

What do the rest of you think about this?

It sure looks like they are promoting spam to me. Excuse me, the politically correct term "Bulk Email"

MilkMan

Interesting, seems that they are having people set up domains and accounts with other hosts then send them all the pertinent info.

A nice way to send out spam and have someone else take the fall.

Good catch there MilkMan.

I am going to retrieve one of them emails, write my user back and see if it was his email that was sent.

Easy way for u-bilk.com to send their own bulk (spam) email. The return email addresses were also hidden.

I am also writing u-bulk's service provider, as well as all the host on this black list.

I may have been hallucinating, but I believe I saw a post from these people in the "related offers and requests" forum a few days ago. I can't find it any more, so I assume that someone clucked at it.

I'm surprised they didn't list us as ultra-unfriendly, but I am delighted that we are on their don't-use list. I nailed two of their 'client' accounts within an hour of each other one day after looking at some odd DNS issues. One of the responses we received back when we sent a note inquiring about this was from this guy at u-bulk - copying us to tell his 'client' that they didn't need to worry about our questions because it was part of their agreement at u-bulk. I told them they had bigger problems than DNS settings, since the accounts were terminated. I can't say I'm thrilled that they don't have a big red notice saying that no host in their right mind would willing and knowlingly host a spammer, but as we all know, some companies simply will not terminate them as they should. Just look at the live spamhausen at http://www.spamhaus.org and you'll get an idea of why people like this are allowed to continue their spamming ways.

Their service provider is http://ardentcomm.com or a host that has a server with them.

I traceroute the domain name, then looked up the info listed to their IP Address.

This is interesting:

To Whom It May Concern;

It has come to my attention that your company has Vortech Hosting listed as a spam friendly host on your Host Blacklist. This is to advise you that our company name needs to be removed IMMEDIATELY from this list. Vortech Hosting is NOT bulk friendly and I do not appreciate you advertising as if we are. The DNS issues were simply issues of the domains either not being registered or registered and redirecting. That raises suspicion when the accounts are on the smallest possible plan. In addition, on the two mentioned above, I did not find any scripts uploaded to the server. The very fact that they were associated with a known spamming outfit was enough for me, and I termed them. Others, though, we have terminated for running spamming scripts or offering spamware. The names of the scripts vary, since these bottom feeders tend to change the names to escape automated spammer hunt and kill sessions. I figure they think it's worth 5-8 bucks to try and get some spam rolled out before the host catches them and shuts them down. We've been lucky from time to time, as we've caught a couple that had uploaded the scripts but hadn't actually sent anything. It's a never ending battle, I'm afraid.

User banned, WARNING posted. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt (Meaning that bulk email in itself isn't bad, unsolicited bulk email is bad), and not ban them when I saw the post, but I've come to think they are not the type of member we should have here, and thus they have been banned. Anything you sell should be allowed by a host, and it doesn't seem they are too interested in that.

Even with the few hundred messages you'd allow in this example, that's still enough for spammers to make a run. Short, but there really is no difference there to us, since we generally catch them quickly. Besides, I see something inherently wrong in punishing all of our clients because of random scumbags.

I am glad my site is on that list (I think). I don't know how that happened but I think it was the one incident we had of a client sending out spam and she claimed she bought the email list and they were "verified" addys or something and then went after the people she bought the list from. ;)
