Hey Hey,

I was just wondering what people would suggest for a good host.
Right now i would probably use it for a few things:

--Storage (access to files like pictures for friends 30-50 megs max)
--Medium sized gaming site

I probably need a maximum of 500 megs, and i dont know how much bandwith i would need. And the last thing, is the faster the host, the better. Good Tech support and a CP is always nice too.

Thanks

PS. a few subdomains couldnt hurt either :D

You should post in the requests forum :)

Hosts, please read the forum guidelines about steering people to the ad forums. Not only is this not permitted, it isn't the first time that a host has incorrectly told a new member to post there. This person is looking for SUGGESTIONS.

Well without knowing how much transfer you need it's pretty hard to give a good suggestion, but being a gaming site, it'll probably grow rapidly, and for high bandwidth sites I would recomment www.sexy-hosting.com

It's run by Jorge (Jedito on the forums) from DownTownHost.com
I have an account on DTH and I can safely say Jorge is probably the friendliest host you'll ever come across, he's always there to answer any questions.

Good luck with your search :)

If you're going to be using a lot of bandwidth, I would recommend Tera Byte. See their plans at http://tera-byte.com/hosting.html (for non-adult hosting only).

When looking for a host, also bear in mind that you're not just shopping for the lowest price, but also for the best service. Be prepared to pay a few bucks extra to get good service. That doesn't mean that there aren't hosts out there which manage to charge lots and still don't manage to provide any kind of service, just saying that you shouldn't expect any kind of fast customer support if you're only prepared to pay very little.
