View Full Version : domain registration poll
multipleimage 11-28-2001, 08:09 PM I am moving away from totalnic.net. I am looking for a registar that can modify nameservers fast. Several of my clients will be transfered as well. Also if they allow us to change the owner of a domain at anytime that is a plus too. Totalnic.net offers that but I am not sure if others do. Will look into that.
Chicken 11-28-2001, 08:13 PM If you manage to successfully transfer, let me know your secret.

I will transfer it. One way or another. They will transfer my domain.
They screwed up three times. First one almost cost me my domain. They whole record was lost. That is why it shows as being registerd in 2000 but the time was 0000.
I still cant get over that one. They did give me 4 additional years though.
Go figure....
davidb 11-28-2001, 08:39 PM I found stargate to be great, and their company is based close to where I live :). I like them and their control panel, but I would like most registars after comming from NSI.
(SH)Saeed 11-28-2001, 09:10 PM I would say if it's a good and important domain name, then you can't go wrong with 000domains.com. However, if it's a less important domain and you want to pay as little as possible, stargate is your registerar.
We've had great experience with both.
netsolutions 11-28-2001, 09:14 PM Dotster RULES!!! :)
netsolutions 11-28-2001, 09:15 PM How come Network Solutions isn't in the list ;)

As for me, I signed up with namesdirect.com a couple months back. No problems so far. They successfully assisted me in the transfer of my domain name from bulkregister. Price is not the cheapest but reasonable.

No known problems for over 2 years!
Highly recommended.
Shiekron 11-28-2001, 11:37 PM I haven't seen anyone cheer for GoDaddy?
Go GoDaddy!!! Who is your Daddy?
Godaddy has been cheap and good to me all these years, I think I will try Stargate for my next domain.

Well, for your existing domains, you could transfer to stargate and get a year extra...;)
Think i shall do it too...muahahahahhahahahaha!
thesmallguyshost 11-29-2001, 01:29 AM I just registered some domains through registerfly.com
They use enom but it was the fastest registration and propagation I have EVER seen with a domain. I registered two domains for a new server I had setup and also needed to setup nameservers for one of the domains..... within 10 hours, the domains and nameservers were resolving to my server and I checked through two different ISP's...
I really like their interface also...
I was a big supporter of stargateinc but they just screwed up for the 4th time in a row leaving a domain registered to THEM.. now I know I'll be waiting 2 weeks for them to fix it as did the other 3 times when the exact same thing happened. Their pieces of s*** NT servers have ASP errors all the damn time especially during the final billing stage.
Godaddy's interface is horrible... and I've had 6 different unrelated customers that took over 3 weeks to get dns changed on their domains registered with godaddy.
I'll be sticking with registerfly for awhile now.
