Hi,

Does anyone know why FrontPage 2000 gives a "no extensions installed" error even when they are installed? The customer has been using FP with no troubles for 3 or 4 months now, but this morning, "puf".

This error is appearing only in 1 vhost. The rest of the vhosts are OK.

I´ve tried disable FP and then re-enable FP for that specific site and nada. Also have verified that "www:80.cnf" is not on the /usr/local/frontpage dir. Verified that all _vti files are gone when disable frontpage. Users with no frontpage. Still nothing.

Any ideas what the problem could be and how to resolve?

Server is a Cobalt RaQ4.

Thanks! :)

Ed

Try to delete this vsite and recreate it....

Was trying to avoid that action, but "apparently" is the only way around to correct the problem.

Will post what the results of this action were.

Thanks!

Remove the FrontPage Extensions. Move all of the remaining files out of the web directory and into another. Make sure the www.thedomain.tld:80.cnf is gone from /usr/local/frontpage; if not, delete it. Reinstall the FrontPage Extensions. (At this point I would try and open the website directly with FrontPage to see if it's working). Move the files back in to the web directory. Do a "chown -R nobody *" in the web directory to make sure the file ownerships are correct. Try and open the website directly with FrontPage. If that works, do a Recalculate Hyperlinks.

Hi,

I found the (possible) problem. It seems that when I updated my RaQ4`s .pkg software, it changed the way RaQ4 handles passwords. (Not sure which software did that)

What I did was to uninstall Front Page for the virtual site, then re-install them and use lowercase, 8 characters max. passwords.

The problem started with just one virtual site but then the rest of the vsites showed the same problem. I did the same with all of them and they´re working normally now.

In short, disable Front Page Use for the virtual site, then enable the use of Front Page again and use a lower case, no longer than 8 characters password for the "webmaster" account.

Hope this helps to anyone with the same problem.

Thanx! :smokin:
