I have a RAQ3 with POP b4 SMTP enabled.
Every night, they SMTP server dies.
I get the following message:
The SMTP (mail) server appears to be down. The mail server may shut itself down temporarily under extreme load, so you should also check the CPU load on the server. If the load does not appear to be the problem, try turning mail service off and then on within the Cobalt server Control Panel to see if this corrects the problem. If not, try rebooting the server itself. If this still does not correct the problem, contact Cobalt Technical Support.
If I restart then it SMTP starts then fails. My CPU load is 1%.
To fix it, I clear /var/spool/mqueue then restart the server.
Questions:
1. Anyone got a clue on why this is happening?
2. Anyone know how to troubleshoot SMTP?
If anyone got a direction I can go, please email it to me at kvue@wadsnet.net. :bawling:
