Does anybody else get those anoying ICQ spam messages like
"Come see our new XXX site with fresh teens" or other stupid ones like that. I get like 3 of these a day. Is there anyway to stop these stupid messages?

Yeah, I get loads of ICQ spam messages each day.... I recently setup a new number, and on the first day I started receiving them!

I was getting those spam messages all the time, then I changed my preferences to only accept messages from users in my contact list. Go to your security and preferences and click on the messages icon. Then setup your preferences accordingly. Ever since I changed my pref's I haven't gotten any of those messages.

Constant spam was one of the reasons why I quit ICQ and stuck to AIM.

I know about this option the only problem is what if someone needs to send me a message and they aren't in my contact list?

They can request you to have them in your contact list.

I have gotten a few weird ones lately. Whenever they a message I put them on my ignore list but everytime a bookmark is added in a folder called the same as the ICQ number. Pretty annoying.

Working under Invisible mode seems to help a bit.

I'm usually invisible as well... I don't get very many spam messages on ICQ when I'm invisible.
Now when I'm on ICQ and available - then I got weird people messaging me (mostly wanting to cyber) or porno spam.

I keep getting them too, very annoying. I had to chuckle a little yesterday when someone sent me one for a 'FREE domain name, FREE hosting for one month, UNLIMITED everything'

I used to get them often, but once I left ICQ in away mode 24/7 I only got one ever month or two, just recently I've been getting 5 or 6 a day though (by recently I mean it started about 4 days ago)
