Hey Guys/Gals if you really want to learn to manage a real server then I highly recommend to sign up with cagetornado.com

Since I got my new account activated on the new server(virtual) , for the past week I have been busy roaming(In Dan's words) the server, adding virtual sites, configuring the proftpd.conf , httpd.conf, etc. etc. experimenting with many things including FreeVSD that was unanswered regarding Linux/apache on my workstation(laptop) and a stack of books that was not of any help. Now I have gain confidence in such a short time maintaining a server and hope to learn more with cagedtornado.com(Dan) and I hope that in the future they can offer some dedicated servers to their existing clients, I for one will gladly take up their offer without hesitation.

I am very grateful to Dan, being a good teacher, caring person and most of all, an excellent support unmatch anywhere in my opinion.

MANY THANKS DAN

I'll second that!

Dan has indeed been very helpful in working through both the expected and the unexpected :).

It's a funny feeling when you actually look forward to a support interaction rather than dread it.

I've had some support interactions with another hosting company in the past two weeks that really makes me appreciate what Dan is doing. Man, some people just don't get it.

Here's a recent dialog with the other company:

Me: "CPANEL is complaining again about it's license being expired. Please fix this."
Host: "So we've been told. We'll get to it, but maybe not until Monday."
Me: "OK, can you manually add the following subdomains for me while I wait? I really need them to be online this weekend."
Host: "Thank you for your submission to our helpdesk system. Someone will get back to you..."

It's been two days... I suspect nothing will be working until Monday.

Nothing in support is magic - it's all about attitude.
