First, check your traffic logs for Googlebot and visitors from google. Just because you don't see yourself indexed, it doesn't mean other people are not.
Also, it takes many months to get Google to spider your site well. I have a 40,000+ page site (different content on each), and it has taken me six months to have 27,000 entries in google (by using the site: search).
Lubby 05-18-2004, 10:44 PM it can take 4 months or longer sometimes. If you really want in hire a SEO company that knows that ins and outs. I recommend thinkseo.com They got me to a PR5 in one month. :)
Hostkookster 05-18-2004, 10:54 PM You must submit your site to dmoz.org
It's the ultimate web directory. Google takes entries from dmoz, as do many other search engines.
Because dmoz.org is a non-profit community, your site may not show up in the directory for several months. You just need to be patient.
Google bases it's results on relevancy, and the number of links others have to your site. The rules of search engines always change.
I would avoid using an SEO company. Results vary across the board, but typically SEO companies are a waste of money. Do the grunt work yourself by placing a link to your site in as many places as you can - avoid FFA (Free For All) sites - google hates those.
kohashi 05-18-2004, 11:06 PM If you want to get in google get a link from someone already listed. Or get another free subdomain from a site that has a directory of subdomains (so google crawls that). You should get in by the next update unless you're blacklisted or something. This has worked for me with all of my sites. I just link from previous ones and by the next month google and many other search engines have the site in the database.
Yaser 05-19-2004, 01:08 AM Maybe you can start a small Adword campaign ;)
BF-Gary 05-19-2004, 01:15 AM You can also add your url here:
http://www.google.com/addurl.html
Fatty 05-19-2004, 01:19 AM Yes, dmoz or submit it.
To be honest I never have any trouble. The site we are delveloping just now I had to block google spiders until it is ready to go live. Damn things running all over it.
G luck.
Submit, and try to get people to link to you. That will increase the rate you get added.
a1nerd 05-19-2004, 03:09 AM Just exchange your links with other websites. If your site gets descent traffic and is arround for a month or so google will find you.
Shoey 05-19-2004, 03:55 AM Add your url via http://www.google.com/addurl.html - don't use that tools.
RealPakistani 05-19-2004, 05:33 AM You can easily submit your site to many search engines include Google using this page :

freak 05-19-2004, 05:37 AM The problem may lie with your .tk domain. It is free, and it doesn't work quite the way normal domains do.
revsorg 05-19-2004, 06:31 AM I'd get a listing with business.com if you can afford $99 per year. They've really got Google PageRank nailed.
ldcdc 05-19-2004, 10:38 AM If you get a few links from pages that are often crawled your website should be indexed in a month or two. However, getting decent rankings is a whole other problem than just getting indexed.
I, Brian 05-19-2004, 10:58 AM Getting into Google is easy.
It's ranking that is hard for most people - that's why companies like my own exist. :)
Hurga 05-19-2004, 12:22 PM Best bet is get your friends to link you. Otherwise it could take up to 8 weeks.
whdev 05-19-2004, 12:27 PM sorry, wrong post.

There is a difference between being registered and entered within the Google database and having a high place rank. The latter takes much longer than the former.
One month seems a very short time. What type of price range were the fees charged for that type of service?

Don't judge success in search engine optimization/marketing by PageRank. What matters is relevant traffic, and conversions. A PR5 isn't an indicator that you'll get either of those.

Check out their website. I just paid the normal fee. However the site had been run before but the PR on it was 0 for the first month it was setup.. Most of my subpages are PR3 or PR4 as well.
projectpatch 05-22-2004, 12:21 AM I started a fansite 2 weeks ago, and since then ive been getting 10% of my views from google, google literally pickd me up a few days after I put the thing online... im rankd very well on the search already too.
More than likely you are already on google but with a bad rank or not fully spiderd...
ktwilight 05-24-2004, 05:07 AM i've heard that googlebot doesn't comply to the robot.txt file? is that true?
it doesn't seem to be the case for my websites, but i would like a good confirmation from the gurus here. :D

charmedlover 05-24-2004, 06:59 AM I think that it helps to get listed at buisness.com, but I haven't tried it first hand.
Also if anyone needs a good article about getting into google here is one that a friend of mine wrote at his newely opened site:
