I found this posted on another message board I visit and found it quite interesting so I am posting it here:

A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless - they weren't having sex.

The University Clinic of Lubek said they had never heard of a case like it after examining the couple who went to see them last month for fertility tests.

Doctors subjected them to a series of examinations and found they were both apparently fertile, and should have had no trouble conceiving.

A clinic spokesman said: "When we asked them how often they had had sex, they looked blank, and said: "What do you mean?".

"We are not talking retarded people here, but a couple who were brought up in a religious environment who were simply unaware, after eight years of marriage, of the physical requirements necessary to procreate."

The 30-year-old wife and her 36-year-old husband are now being given sex therapy lessons while the university clinic undertakes a study to try to find out if there are more couples with a similar lack of sex education.

a friend of mine saw a real life example of this case and guess what ? they have 8 kids and the husband never knew they have todo it to get childrens, her wife was playing behind his back and he raised some other men kids for almost 20years of marraige.

They taught us about sex right when I was 11 years old in 6th grade at school to me and the rest of giggling students.
AT least now they know how to have sex.

I honestly don't believe that article. There are some stupid people in the world, but that seems like a bit too much. It's impossible to not pick it up from TV, radio, social contact, their parents, etc. Especially not at 30 and 36.

I wouldn't really trust the source of the article either.

Well obviously Germany needs to have sex education classes. On the other hand I have my own instructions for having a child.

Midnight - Cuddle & Sex

Well, i'd say trusting the UK's #1 mobile operator's news site was a pretty safe bet.

I've never been to Europe, but I hear the TV over there is very......explict......especially in the area of sex.

I am 19-years-old and as for the "Your Mom." statement in my profile is a joke! It says "Interests: Your Mom." so I thought it would be funny to add it in because humor is humor. As for my mom and sex... she says just don't sleep with any under 18 and you'll do fine. Anyone younger than that age is looking for trouble.

I appreciated mom jokes a little more when I was 14.

The article says that they were brought up in a very strict religious environment. Modify that phrase to "very strict, sexually repressed, and overtly prudish environment" and it's possible that they didn't know that they had to have sex.

Very weird, and they're probably one of the few couples in the world who wouldn't have this knowledge (hence the article - because their situation is so very rare and so very weird.)

This is surreal... with all the media and present social conditions this is virtually impossible.
