This is an offer which we are hopeing to be able to offer to WHM users soon. Our website is still under construction but we are looking to see what type of response's we get.

Cobalt RAQ4i - 128 MB RAM - 20 GB HDD
Fast, Optical Network
Remote Reboot available.
No CONTRACTS, no hassles.
Instant Activation
Toll-free sales/service
300 GB/mo Transfer.

$110 Monthly with $250 Setup.

Our main network operations center (NOC) has connections to Global Crossing and Level3 in Atlanta, Georgia. We have additional connectivity in our redundant leased NOC's across the country to Qwest, Verio, and Cogent.

Since we operate our own independant network operations center, we provide you a single, responsible point of contact for things as simple as server reboots to items as complex as database integration.

We are in no way related to RackShack !!!

Please leave your comment and/or any queries..

Regards,
eDedicated

Perhaps it would be beneficial to specify what type of Cobolt box you intend to offer..

Hope Santa brings you many paying customers this year.;)

I am begining to like the idea of having my own server but I am not the expert on server administration. :(

I was wondering if that price includes minor maintenance such as applying patches, installing modules, and setting up own DNS server. :)

I said "minor maintenance" but then again I am not sure how difficult that is. :D

Did you guys take any classes?

Thanks,
Daniel

The Laughing Cow : Thanks for pointing it out :)

imageproject : No we just supply the server as they are cheap at that price, we couldnt afford to provide management along with it. However they are easy to setup :)

Iagree, could you offer something with more memory? I'm currently going through hell with a RAQ4i with 256 MB memory.

Also, what differentiate you from RackShack?

Are you reselling these machines or is it actually your data center?

Firstly there are alot of differences between us and rackshack however i am not gowing to degrade any other business on this forum and i am not here to do that :)

Direct peering in Atlanta (via NetRail) to:

Level3
Qwest
Global Crossing
AboveNet
DV2
and Cogent

The bottom line is fast, clean bandwidth for what matters most to you: your data.

Nope... we operate our own Datacenter.

You mean, you actually have cogent pipe that peers with Level3, etc (via NetRail). You do not mean that you actually bring Level3, Qwest, etc pipes into your datacenter, right?

Nope... we operate our own Datacenter.

I wonder why traceroute shows that your website is located in UK and you operate your datacenter in Atlanta?

cheers,

here we go again ;)

They are in the building (as is cogent) so our data travels over the cogent router to the netrail router (in the building as well) and to them.

Our connectivity traverses Cogent/Epik and peaks at 30%. We currently have 100 Mbps with them.

As for the traceroute.... yes it does go back to the Uk.... Why u may ask. .... because we have not transfered our namservers over yet as our website is still under constuction.

Kind Regards,

What's one of your IP addresses inside of "your" datacenter? That list of connections sounds like it came straight off of the Cobalthost.com site.

That's basically saying you only have cogent, just in different words :) For ssure, if we do the traceroute (hence, somebody is already insterested to get an IP from you to test), the last hop will always be routed through cogent .... Sure, in the middle of the traceroute, anything can pop up (Level3, above, etc) but then cogent is the only provider you use to supply your bandwith. In still other wrods, you do not have a BGP4 setup using several other providers such that when the cogent line fails, it will be automatically routed through other providers?

Words can be arranged in any way one wants, but what I want is the true answer :)

Last time I know, epik uses cogent. I was interested with epik, how is their connection? Good?

OK ... so, you are in UK and your data center is in Atlanta? Do you have physical access to your data center then?

What's the advantage of going with you rather than buying the same thing directly from the original provider for less money? This is NOT your data center, contrary to what you said... why lie about it?
