What is the quickest and best way to transfer a domain to someone else. Let's say I registered my domain at www.registerfly.com and wanted to sell it to someone else, how can I transfer ownership of this domain?

Is there a set way to do this ?

Thanks.

I believe each registrar has a different way of doing it. :stickout

Some will give you a hard time. :D

Yes, I believe each registrar has a way of transferring the domain to a different registrar. But I would like to transfer ownership of my domain to someone else, not a different registrar.

Does that make sense?

Do I just delete my information for that domain and enter the buyer's information?

Generally there will be a flat fee. Then you must print your domain transfer order, sign it and then fax it back to the registar.

You shouldn't have to pay a fee to leave any registrar, how ever the incoming registrar *may* ask you to extend your domain for one more year. I personally think that tucows/opensrs is the easiest to deal with, but I am slighted as I have been a reseller for them for quite some time.

Smartbackups, he was talking about transfer the domain name to another person not another registar and there is always a fee involved in that.

They are still going to ask for a small fee to do the domain name transfer.

Not so, OpenSRS and enom registrars do not require a fee. To transfer a name from regfly, I suggest this person create an account at enom.com then you can easily push the domain into their account and they can modify the details to their liking, or transfer it somewhere else. This puts it off your shoulders completely.

Edit: be sure you have the ability to PUSH domains to other accounts from regfly. I was assuming you do, but I've never used regfly so I'm not certain.
