When I went to sign into both cpanel and whm I get this error.

License File Expired

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
cpanel.net
LTD: 1083855946 NOW: 1084461912

I have not even had my server for 1 month. How can my license already be expired?

you should call them.

The license has not expired:

(License Lookup)
***.***.***.*** using package NOCSTER-INTERNAL and is licensed though: BurstNET
Technologies Inc. (active on: 2004-04-26 15:48:09, group: BurstNET Technologies
Inc.) and is active.

The reason why this is occuring because there seems to be a problem syncing the
license data from your server to cpanel's licensing server.

I am looking at this right now.

Have a great day!
Thank you

this seemed to work:

I found out that some of us including me have encountered this problem at least once when we received our box. So probably in case you suddenly happened to read that magic word " License File Expired", probably you could try this so that you could save some time while waiting for BurstNET support to resolve ur problem.

=> SSH to root

#rdate -s rdate.darkorb.net
#/sbin/hwclock --systohc
#/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt
#exit

Note : No need to reboot server

https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2087 or https://yourservrename:2087 to verify that the license issue is resolved.

Hope this could be of some help. - But as usual, use it @ your own RISK and make sure you have paid BurstNET for the cpanel or else ..heehee..

You installed APF on the server and didn't allow certain ports to have inbound/outbound tcp/udp connections.

Your cpanel license couldn't get in touch with cpanel's servers so your cpanel license file never got updated.. which is the reason why your license was thought to have expired.

That command tries to contact Cpanel's servers via port 2089. APF was blocking this port so your server couldn't get its license verified and sync'd.

Definitely no need to get the server rebooted :)

These are not windows machines where a reboot will fix just about every software problem ;)

Yes you are right I have just received an email from BurstNET that said the same thing...
They even fixed my AFP config when they didn't have too.
BurstNET is the best.
In the future - What port would I need to unblock so not to have this happen again.

For the record, I think the title of this thread is a tad bit misleading - one cpanel license being *cough* "expired" *cough*, if it were true, would not exactly lead to ALL of our licenses being expired.

Cpanel lists it here for your convenience.

Make sure you make the distinction in between outbound/inbound and tcp/udp connections in the configs as it shows in the cpanel faq.

Sorry BurstNET

I was working on my new server this morning and everything was fine and with just one click of the mouse I started to get the license expire error. I only knew if I was having problems so where my clients and I just wanted to solve the problem before anyone found out. Because of your great tech support none of my client will ever know of my mistakes. I hope to have many more servers in the future with BurstNET.

All I want to say is:

BurstNET is the best and quickest with tech support.

Thanks again BurstNET
