I am looking into becoming a reseller and would like to know a few things about the profession. First what are the top companies that people would recommend for someone who would like to have the "Host" do as much as the work as possible. Also what responsibilites do I have as a reseller and how do I perform these. (I have read the articles, I just need some insight on the things that resellers must do).
General Question: What kind of money can someone expect at different levels of performance......If people could share some of there incomes or just what I could expect to make when I am at different levels of reselling accounts.
Is it easy to get started? Do I need to have my own webpage? Can a reseller show me what there website looks like???
Anything else that you can think of that could be helpful....
Thanks SO much everyone.

Firstly, a website is essential. The majority of your clients will find you via your website, and it should be the main point of contact for sales and support issues.
I am not a reseller, but I know from the hosting industry, people will be reluctant to reveal their financial information, and this is often quite different between 2 companies.
Be prepared to have some late nights supporting clients, and you will have to spend quite a bit of time setting up accounts / providing tech support for your clients, as the number of clients you have increases. You can't just purchase a reseller account and make thousands in a few weeks.
Good luck

Would it be possible for resellers to post examples what their web sites look like and so I could take a look at a few.

Well I use to be a reseller and I can tell you this a reseller's site can look how ever you want. Sometimes a reseller's site looks just like a "BigBoy" site. Sometimes it looks alright and sometimes you really don't want to look at them. It's all up to you. Look around at other host's site and get ideas don't take someone elses site. Also look around in the request forum you might find a nice template for less then $200 that you can use or you can ask some to create one for you. You site is one of the most important things. Its like a store if you go to Sears and you see everything nice and in place you will want to buy but if you go to Kmart and their store is ugly and dirty then you will not buy from them and you ill go to Sears even though you might have to pay more their.

As far as responsabilities, that's partially up to you, which reseller you go with, and what all type of account you get with them. For the customers however, make sure you've touched up on your basic languages (html, perl, php or others depending on the operating system you go with). As others have said, a website is essential. If you can't get a website of your own up, why should they trust you to keep theirs up? While you seem to want the host to do as much as possible, don't just jump in and say "ok, I'll just be the middle man here and ask the host all their questions." You choose to become a reseller, you'd better have something to offer the customer, other than your host.
