As some of you may know, I soon plan to start a hosting buissness. At first, I'll just be reselling packages off multiple hosts. But I need a cool name for my buissness. What do you guys think of icehosting.com? I did a whois.net check, and it's free. At first I liked it, than I later on I thought it was kinda corny. :(What do you think?

I think it's so-so. It doesn't really matter what the name is anyway, only what you offer people :). Good luck on your reseller business.

Yes . . . . What David said.
Although you wouldn't want to call yourself "NeverOnLineHosting"
people will remember you based on the service, or lack of, you provide.
Find a name that you like. And then build the company you would be proud to call yours.

I agree with the others that the name doens't make a ton of difference. Look at some of the sites out today that just have some "goofy" name, but they're successful. This is especially true with some of the portals.
Just kind of get something that suits you and you think sounds good.

Thinking of the name is often a hard part - but I found you think especially well at night, so keep a pen and paper close to hand, to write down any thoughts. It took us a week to think of a reasonable name for our latest venture... (more on that soon ;) )

Of course, service should be most emphasized on, but the design of the web site and company name should NOT be an after thought.

You'll find your company name at the weirdest time. I found my company name just after I took off and it just came to me.

When I say take off I mean in a airplane

I'm serious. I named my hosting company after the call sign of my airplane

When you are searching something in the internet - do you pay big attention to the names?
I think you don't.
You are just interested what they can offer you.
It's just important for name not to be stupid... :)
Icehosting... hmm... why not? ;)

What's in a name... what you call a rose would smell as sweet by any other name
- Shakespere.... :)
However, on the net I would suggest first you register the name and ask other how it is... mostly people buy it before you realize it was a good name.... times have changed.
However, the bottom line in the hosting industry be honest, fast and warm... the rest happens on its own.
Have a great day :)

go for url short in size
for example
addr.com
it is easy to remember, how ever people won't care about what url you have they care about the advertisements and service you provide to your clients. cheers :)
