I could swear I saw almost that exact same poll question last week.

I like PLESK.

Why do you like Plesk? The whole thing is based on you having to keep upgrading your license because the idiots count sub-domains as a domain on the license.

300 domains license and unlimited domain licenses are good enough.

If you can afford around $100 per month for control panel, I sure believe you can afford an unlimited license from PLESK. :D

For that $100 a month you not only get the control panel but the support with it. With Plesk you have to pay a lot extra for support. Plus CPanel has a lot more features that Plesk does not have.

I believe the break even is around 10-15 months.

After that PLESK is much cheaper.

Ya but your not looking at the support factor.

Fremont Servers

Support is only around $300 per year.

Do have any idea how much extra features CPanel has over Plesk. I'm not being straight minded here because I actually use Plesk but that is because I have security issues with CPanel that I am waiting for them to get worked out.

Yes, I heard Cpanel has many features. I'm not sure if they have demo for you to download and test it out.

I like the backup feature.

I guess I'll have to wait for PLESK to come out with these features.

I think when choosing a control panel you also have to think ease of use for your customers. I find my clients have a harder time with Plesk then CPanel. A little different way of going about things.

People want lots of features, but they don't want to pay for it.

I tend to favor onetime free or something like PLESK's pricings.

Onetime free? Ya that would be great! I would love Plesk, but I think you mean one time fee.

We use Cpanel. For us, it seems to be the best solution right now...

Plesk is solid, straightforward, and easy to use, and has comprehensive documentation; if you have any control panel experience at all, you should have no trouble learning Plesk. If you've got a serious issue you can't figure out and the people in the Plesk forum (or this forum!) can't answer, you can pay $30 for a phone support incident.
Plus CPanel has a lot more features that Plesk does not have. That depends on what your perspective of a "feature" is.

We use Cpanel and of course we are waiting for the new NOCsoft. Would be nice to know when it is introduced. :)

I dont think you'll get better than H-Sphere IMO. Neither Cpanel or Plesk come close...

16 people are using other? What are these other control panels?

we use both plesk and cpanel.

Plesk is what we first purchased. It was nice... seamed stable (it's not!!! well if you install their set of 10 patch's then it can be... somewhat) and is simple... But you know... people dont like it. Most people hate it. It's not that they hate it because it's hard to use or anything along that line... it's the fact that it basically has no purpose, it offers basic stuff but nothing that makes it special. And the fact that it uses ****ed up locations for it's files and services just drives me nutz. AND NO TELNET access.... man might as well use a NT server.

one think i do give to plesk is the fact that they are organized and their support is great. They have a well organized system unlike cpanel where their are files/scripts all over the place.

Cpanel offers alot and we like it alot. Currently we are moving alot of client from our old resold server to our new servers in our NOC and they have a choise between cpanel and plesk. so far 1 out of 10 clients choose plesk over cpanel. cpanel is definitly what people like. It has what the want. Unfortunitly, cpanel doesnt have any support (if your a distributer... like me) and so far their support forum sucks. I seriously think their is like 3 peopel on that forum including me ;)

i've yet to try h-sphear. they were our first choise and we we tryed to have them install their control panel but for 1 they dont speak english. 2. we can never get a hold on them... They give us techs cell numbers and they turn out to be random people. 3. it takes them 24-48 hours to awnser a ****ing email.

We gave up on them and then tryed again 3 months later and again.... same problems.

personally, i like cpanel alot
