View Full Version : Multiple Image - can anyone actually reach them?
WildWayz 11-24-2001, 08:16 PM I was meant to have a server up a 2 weeks ago this monday, but alas it still isn't up.
(it's for irc vanity hosts)
Calling the number on their page doesn't get me anywhere (I am calling from the UK and it says something about "this number cannot take calls from blahblah").
ICQing Tim I barely get a reply, then if he does it isn't answering my questions.
Same goes for emails :/
Emailing their support address I tend to get a fast reply - but noone can help me anyway.
Are they really this bad or am I just having a bad time?
Server was ordered about the 7th November and was told it would be up on the 12th.
Anyone else getting problems with them?
I am close to cancelling this server :/

The number you tried maybe a "number without charge"(dont know how this is called in decent english, had some bears right now)
You could use a online service like net2phone to call them, maybe that works.
By the way, you're not the first one complaining about this.
multipleimage 11-25-2001, 01:21 AM I do apologize in the delay of your server. We had a couple delays. orders@multipleimage.com will get you faster replies and they will be able to give you the status of your server.
I also tried to contact you on ICQ earlier as well.
I will get in touch with you personally tomorrow. I will actually be contacting everyone who has a pending server tomorrow or Monday. There are only two that are delayed however.
As some have also been wondering we are moving from our current facility. This will give us greater control.
I believe I have answered all of your questions on ICQ. I am back logged on e-mail however.
Of course you will also receive a credit for the delay.
WildWayz 11-25-2001, 06:08 AM Hi Tim,
Thanks for the reply. Just incase you need to know, I am always at my PC but I have ICQ set to away mode - stops loads of people on my list msging me all the time.
When you msged me last night, I was tucked up in bed asleep :)
Also, this move to another facility, will I still be able to run the bots/vanity hosts? It is essential that I can as that is the purpose of this server - to market those things for gamers.
I don't mind there being delays just so long as I am kept informed. I know you mentioned network floods and hardware delays.
Anyway, I am at home all day Sunday (remember I am in the UK and tend to go to bed about midnight).
Catch you later!
James
node9 11-25-2001, 06:36 AM least this didnt turn out to be a burst like thread

:D
Ericwenlong 11-25-2001, 09:23 AM Node, no one can match Burst in terms of services provided to clients. :D
WildWayz 11-25-2001, 09:31 AM nooooooooooo this is not a "let's pick on poor Burst.Net™" thread!
Lets™ face™ it™,™ they™ have™ a™ lot™ of™ successful™ clients™ who™ do™ not™ have™ a™ problem™ with™ them™.™
They™ also™ have™ their™ own™ NOC™ too™.

Chicken 11-25-2001, 11:27 AM No, it isn't another Burst thread. User has been banned after being warned countless times. Please continue with the discussion, sorry.

Yes you can still run Vhosts. These past two months have been hectic on us. We will be in our own location and we will definatly be stocking up on servers. In fact in a few months we will be offering 4hr (maybe 2hr) setup on certain servers too.
Well I'm also with Multipleimage.com at the moment. My server was up like 1 week late. But Tim was real good at handling the delay.
However, after my server was up, I have problems here and there. Found out that tech support there is not versed in Cpanel and any Cpanel problem, they have to refer back to their vendor.
Furtheremore, I'm having some email problems, which the tech support reply quite fast but no solutions till now. Its been 2 weeks and I'm pressed to the side of the wall about this issue as I know the tech support are upset with the barrage of emails I mailed them. Till now, the answer is just
"We are investigating on the problem"
I'm not complaining about them, but this is my story with Multipleimage. Just hope Tim would be here and at least get the problem solved.
Just my rant..gotta to take out some frustrations...and gosh..it had to be here....
WildWayz 11-27-2001, 07:41 AM drop me an email at james.kapherr@insomnia-webhosting.com with your cpanel problems - see if I can help ya.

You will find many answers to questions in the forums...
multipleimage 11-27-2001, 01:56 PM He has haveing a problem with cpanel that is a known issue according to our cpanel provider.
It is not that we are not farmilar with cpanel.
But I do agree. cpanel.net is a great resource.
multipleimage 11-27-2001, 02:12 PM also as an update to pending servers. They all will be online tonight. In fact I am proud to announce we have received some dedicated server orders this morning and they will be going online tonight as well.
things should be pretty much back to normal with setup times on new servers.
multipleimage 11-27-2001, 05:41 PM we are currently running a load test on our backup generator in our new facility. we have a cabinet being installed today in our old facility so we can get the new servers up.
Everything will be transfered over in about 2 weeks and it will be done in a way with minimal downtime if any.
Well...Tim, it seems you are more frequent here than answering emails.
I've support emails not answered for more than 36hours.
netsolutions 11-28-2001, 03:59 AM How can nobody reach Multiple Image. The owner posts multiple post on WHT every day.

I see you had two support e-mails responded to yesterday and one today.
Also as a note his main problem is an issue with cpanel. Our cpanel provider has informed us that they are contacting DarkOrb about the problem.

I agree. For most of today even our support has responded to e-mails within 30 minutes and resolved most of them within the same time frame.
Of course some take further troubleshooting, OS reinstall, etc.
iwannabe 11-28-2001, 11:42 AM Hey Tim,
Everything will be transfered over in about 2 weeks and it will be done in a way with minimal downtime if any.
What do you mean?
Down time?
Moving from where to where?
From "Parsippany, NJ" to "Melbourne, FL"?
Or, to some where else?

If you are located in Parsippany, NJ you will not experince any downtime in the move.
If you are in Melborne, FL you may experince 5-15 mins of downtime. As long as we have your root password on file this should be eliminated.
Our Stockton, CA location will not be moving at this time. But when it does move at a later date there will be no down time.
Our new location will be in Melborne, FL. About 50 Feet from where we are located now. We will be in our own facility however.

Quick reply as usual:)
I guess you'll keep all my servers (have 4 now) settings intact.
What about reboot?
Will any of it change?
By the way, congrats getting your own facility.
I guess you'll have more control over it:)
multipleimage 11-28-2001, 01:31 PM Yes your settings and IP's will be the same.
Remote reboot should be the same as well. If it changes they will send you an e-mail with the new info.
Yes our own facility will give us more control.
I've officially terminated Multipleimage's service as I find that a simple solution to my problem was not found and no technical email was emailed out.
Neither did Tim emailed my previous 2 emails back.....
Tired and disappointed....
Sincerely,
Ex

The clients account has been terminated as he did not want to wait for a response from DarkOrb on a cpanel issue.
Again I checked and support did respond to each e-mail he sent them.
clocker1996 12-01-2001, 12:42 AM Some people just don't understand.....
Oh well, that's life!

You gotta love that :) Client frustration is easy enough to understand but it's always a burn when you're waiting on a third party to supply information to you that you can then pass onto them :)

WildWayz 12-01-2001, 02:01 PM Also, people have to take into consideration that these are NOT managed servers.
Multiple Image help you, yes, but they can only do so much.
--James
I do understand that this is no fault of multipleimage or mine.
But the server was facing problems after problems ever since I got it. And I still tolerate it for 2 months. Support was good initially, until the server was with problems after problems, which is no fault of mine. Why couldn't the host handle all these problems.
I don't deal with DarkOrb, I deal with Multipleimage, so if DarkOrb don't answers, at least the host email out of courtesy to let us know the situation. But there's no email and response from MImage as far as I'm concerned. I'm not saying that they are not a good host, but in terms of support, they are not as prepared as others.
If a team is not well versed in certain platforms, then don't try to offer them.
I believe that there was a nother thread about MultipleImage kinda of stuff up some server transfer due to lack of knowledge of Cpanel stuff from MImage's side.
All in all, my advice is, if you need a good server with good bandwidth, MImage is one of those with great offers, and average support. If you're dependant of Cpanel and WHM, ask Tim to offer you some other platforms.
Anyhow, I'm disappointed, but in business, there's always disappointment, and I might only be one of the ten who's frustrated about the whole situation looking from the reply from this thread.
But well, Life goes on. :)
