best way is to use all possible ways, forums auction sites, domain sales sites etc..

there is no best way, there is best way for YOUR DOMAIN :) you might sell it in private trasaction than sedo.

it all depends on the name, most forums has resellers and some domain brokers can go into end users to get you best value for your domain.
