Hi..

Just wondering if proftpd gives/writes its status to a file somewhere? The reason for this - is I'd like to grab the amount of users on the ftp and post it on a page.

Any ideas?

you might be able to parse the output of the ftpwho command

The ftp.log is just the general log, I meant if there's a place where it writes the status (ie: /proc/meminfo)

Parsing a 10 meg log down the road every 10 seconds isn't really acceptable! :)

Other than that... proftpd doesn't give me anything when I type: site status, who, ftpwho, users, info. Otherwise, I could parse the ftpwho easily.

ftpwho is for wuFTPd..

You don't need to read the 10 megs everytime ... Just start where you finish to read it the last time.

Cheers,
