Who is your favorite dude or dudet dbzgod 11-23-2001, 11:05 PM The Next Generation all the way..my favorite is Lt. Cmdr. Data Sesran 11-23-2001, 11:07 PM SPOCK is the man... Locutus 11-23-2001, 11:31 PM STNG - Deanna Troi :liplick: Voyager - The Doctor  DS9 - Quark :pimp: Original - Spock :smokin: Enterprise - Not out in the UK till January  dbzgod 11-23-2001, 11:33 PM What kind of ST do you like best Locutus. BTW Enterprise is nothing special alchiba 11-23-2001, 11:35 PM The original is still the best. But I'm also a big fan of Patrick Stewart. He has tremendous presence. Locutus 11-23-2001, 11:36 PM Voyager because it didn't start like the others i.e really crappy -> really good Voyager was good from the beginning and kept a consistent feel to it unlike the others. Shawn (GEcom) 11-24-2001, 12:23 AM I wish you could vote for two of them, Voyager and Next Gen :) My favourite television shows.... :) netsolutions 11-24-2001, 01:12 AM Ya the Voyager cast played their characters the same throughout the series but in TNG they seem to change every couple of years. By the way, Enterprise shouldn't even go under the same category as the other Star Treks dbzgod 11-24-2001, 02:00 AM whys that? Chicken 11-24-2001, 02:24 AM I'd like to apologize to Futurequest Deb for the following in advance... I haven't watched the ones after the original one (mostly because I'm an old chicken), but in the newer ones, does the captain try to bag all of the 3 eye'd purple alien babes? Didn't think so, 'nuff said. Ohhh, and 'nuffplus... BONES! netsolutions 11-24-2001, 02:25 AM Enterprise is a okay sci-fi show but it is not Star Trek. They don't use the transporter, there's only like 5 fed ships and the Voulcians are snobby and that is an emotion. There are a whole bunch of reasons why this isn't a star trek and one of the main ones is this is the first one in history that the Roddenbary's havn't had an influence of. Deb 11-24-2001, 02:10 PM Seven of Nine <<== We were able to name not one but TWO servers after this character ;) I'd like to apologize to FutureQuest Deb for the following in advance... hmmm so many different ways I can interpret your post Chicken... but if it has anything, and I mean anything to do with our lil QT Mascot (img included) well...hmph..I don't think I could forgive you :D Think I'll send Chicken's newest McNugget a QT Stuffed Animal just to ensure the lil'one grows up all proper like. Mike the newbie 11-24-2001, 09:54 PM I've seen each of the Star Trek series during their original TV runs, and that can be important if you try to judge the various Star Trek series in an appropriate context. The original Star Trek was soooooooo far ahead of its time, it should win in that category alone. But the plots sucked. The Same Thing over and over. Star Trek:TNG introduced a real captain to the cast, using real, and very valid leadership techniques. The plot lines were significantly better as well. Although, everything always seemed to finish up in the last 5 minutes of the show. But it was impressive because it was one of the first TV shows to be broadcast in high-quality stereo sound, ... surround sound even. Special effects were better, no salt-shaker medical scanners on this show. Star Trek: DS9 seemed too contrived initially, but it rallied and pulled through over the long haul. You had to watch the last few shows to understand the entire series. Star Trek: Voyager - 'tis a shame they couldnt get the captain they wanted to get, and had to settle for their third choice. Lots of potential, but little delivery. Star Trek Enterprise - too soon to tell. looks promising, though. It is quite interesting because it is set in time *before* the original Star Trek series. Sort of half-way between our current space program and the Star Treks. They are unsure/not-confident in the technology that they need to rely upon for survival. Andromedia - starting to look interesting Earth: Final Conflict - what's going on here? Mike the newbie 11-24-2001, 09:57 PM Normally I don't correct minor typos, but this one begs for correction. please change: using real, and very valid readership techniques. to using real, and very valid leadership techniques. in my previous message. thanks. <<taken care of>> Relyc 11-25-2001, 12:37 AM Original - Great show for it's time, still good but nothing amazing. TNG - Really good, I still enjoy watching the episodes. DS9 - Don't really like it for some reason, it was almost an attempt by the Star Trek series to achieve a Bablyon 5 type of series. Voyager - I love the doctors character....And Jeri Ryan... Enterprise - I think this is a good show, why does nobody else seem to agree with me? akashik 11-25-2001, 01:26 AM Finally a poll I really like :D Patrick Stewart and TNG, though I think he did even better with the movies than the series. Whatever people thought of First Contact, I don't think you could fault his Cpt Ahab performance. Jeri Ryan has to get special mention of course for all kinds of 'boy' reasons... but more than anything for the fact that for years she managed to walk around in that outfit, and never seems to have let her stomach out for a breath once :) P.S. My finacee' and myself both have matching 'Star Trek - The Experience' show coffee cups with our names on them. Greg Moore MrJohnBoy 11-25-2001, 01:46 AM Hello, I had a conversation about Star Trek with a boy (age 11) in our fencing club last night. He told me that he loved Star Trek,. he new many episodes etc.. I felt REALLY old when I asked him which series he liked more the new or old show, (I meant the old 60s show with Kirk and TNG with Piccard,..) He told me that he liked the "Old show" with the "Bald captain" not the "New" show with that "Woman captain",... Arghhhhhhh!!!! Kids!!! :eek2: :crying: john Fred 11-25-2001, 03:24 AM I got into DS9 becuase the plot became sooo interesting and twisted, especially weith the war. Actually, I didnt really get to watch the final half of the last season, what happend?  sel_rahc 11-25-2001, 07:57 PM Voyager was good too though. netsolutions 11-25-2001, 08:56 PM Enterprise - I think this is a good show, why does nobody else seem to agree with me? Yes it is a good show, however it is not a good extension of the Star Trek Saga. blah 11-26-2001, 01:22 AM I grew up with Star Trek TNG :D netsolutions 11-26-2001, 01:35 AM Ya, so did I. It's the best one by far! blah 11-26-2001, 01:40 AM hey hey hey, does any one know where I can get ALL the episodes of Star Trek TNG (right from the beginning)?? Not the movies with the TNG crew...the actual episodes. Thank ye! netsolutions 11-26-2001, 01:49 AM On DVD or VHS? blah 11-26-2001, 01:59 AM Anything! netsolutions 11-26-2001, 02:03 AM Well I know that it is possible to get I think a collection of 10+ DVDs with all the episodes on them. As for VHS, I know they have some episodes on VHS but I don't think all. Two things you can do. Go to your local collectors store or phone TNN and keep bugging them until they send you every episode :) Alareach 11-26-2001, 02:26 AM Im glad they got TNG crew to do another movie Star Trex X comes out next year! http://startrek.com/production/startrekx/articles/092401.html netsolutions 11-26-2001, 02:47 AM I sure hope it's better than the last one  blah 11-26-2001, 02:57 AM Thanks netsolutions! I'll try that. |
