Jay michaelfoo 05-07-2004, 10:55 PM Hi, We are using Dell PowerEdge 750 Server with the following specifications: Intel Pentium 4 2.8Ghz with HT 1GB DDR ECC Registered RAM Dual 80GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drives So far not problem with thermal. In fact, they are rock solid to us! :) Thanks. SniperDevil 05-07-2004, 11:11 PM Are the PowerEdge servers towers or are they 1U/2U Rackmounts? FHDave 05-07-2004, 11:16 PM PE750 is 1U rackmount. I can't really understand PE750. Similarly configured PE1750 may cost less than PE750 actually .... Or do I get it wrong? nopzor 05-07-2004, 11:51 PM The PE750 and the PE1750 are really apples and oranges. The PE750 is a uniprocessor P4 with a single non redundant power supply, ide/sata, and no hot swap bays. the PE1750 is a dual Xeon capable system, with optional redundant hot swappable power supplies, ultra320 scsi, and hot swap sca drive carriers. Normally (Dells pricing changes multiple times a month), the PE750's start at about 75% that of the PE1750. I do, however, agree that the PE1750 definitely seems like better value. -Raj Originally posted by FHDave PE750 is 1U rackmount. I can't really understand PE750.
