View Full Version : WebCam, which one is good?
I have seen JTY at http://www.thelostmind.com used webcam on his website. Could anybody please tell me what is the good webcam program out there? The one I've found was http://www.theill.com/ConquerCam/default.asp.
Thank you,
I personaly like Webcam32, http://www.surveyor.com/
schweiz 10-23-2000, 11:00 PM I'm using Webcam32 too.. so far so good! :D
You can also check out http://www.webcamzone.com for a pretty comprehensive listing of webcam resources ;)
Thank you both, I've just checked that site, sounded good. Btw, what kind of webcam are you guys using? mind to share? I'm ordering a 3com one from buy.com ($105), saw a good review on cnet.com. Just hope it'll turn out to be good :).
schweiz 10-24-2000, 04:06 AM I'm currently using a compro PS39 and a Creative Labs Webcam GO.. cant really complain, with the price I got them @ :D

I'm using a Creative Webcam II.
I have some problems with uploading images from WebCam32 to the Web, but I can firgue it out later. Just out of curiousity, have you seen "American Pie"? What kind of thing that guy used to broadcast his "action" to the internet. I would be very nice if I can do like that, hiding the cam somewhere in my room and observe it in school, you know... to see ... what's my gf doing? j/k :D
I think they used iVisit.
Nam,
I once considered setting up a web cam in my room (and had one lying around in my room), but when I got a girlfriend early last year, first thing she said was : "Get that webcam outta here or I'll walk out on you."
Enough said :bawling: :D
If I had a girlfriend, I wouldn't have a cam.
Chicken 10-25-2000, 08:16 PM Ladies- take notice! John's quite a stud muffin! (Note: I'm male and only say this to drive hits to his webcam and get the poor bastard hooked up). :)
Hahaha, you guys are funny. So BC, you didn't get it because of your gf, haha, me the same as John, no girl yet.
Btw, I don't know how to post the image like John, you have DSL? This is mine using imagepull, I think it work only if I'm online. I made it 640x480, the image is so good. I love the 3com one.
http://www.namnet.com/webcam/imagepull.htm My parents are in Vietnam, I hope they can see me by doing this way.
LOL @ Nam! Nah, I think that webcam's gathering dust in my shed (since I really couldn't be bothered anyway and I didn't have a permanent connection back then for use)...
And if it gives you any indication, I broke up with *that* g/f last month.... :bawling:
But let's move on.....
Chicken 10-26-2000, 12:43 AM Looks good! I want one!!!
Annette 10-26-2000, 12:48 AM You can always tell a real, die-hard geek: the case is never on their computer. :)
(BTW, how do you like the intelli-eye mouse? Are those things just the coolest or what?? Can't imagine how I lived without one - although the cynical part of me imagines that's how MS wanted it.)
Hahaha, BC, what did you laugh at, sorry to hear that, was she lucky or what? ;)
Haha, Annette, thanks, what the eyes :D. I used to work at computer store, so I know a bit about hardware, but web? nothing. I've used to logitech trackball, but the MS explorer has the extra button that lets you back and forward, isn't it cool? I got it together with this webcam plus $30 off promotion at buy.com, so pretty good deal ($100+$55-$30=$125). Nite all.
Nam,
I was laughing at your 'you didn't get it' comment - Down Under there is a slightly different interpretation of that phrase ;)
Nam,
I'm actually uploading the image to my isp's server, since it's a quick upload. The using a Java applet to embed and update the image on my website.
Chicken,
LOL!!
