Hi,

I'm working on setup a server (web, email, ftp, mysql, ssh, etc, all-in-one) for hosting propouses.

So for the hardware I've got one question: Is enought good the VT8237 chipset based onboard raid controllers for SATA?

I'm gona to run it under linux :)

Thanks,
Sorry for my english, I know it sucks.

I've heard of people having problems with this chipset with kernel versions earlier than 2.6.x. Go with a distribution that has the 2.6.x kernel to save yourself some headaches.

Ich, can't stand onboard RAID of any kind personally, much prefer using an add-in card, or Zero Channel RAID...

I'm gonna to use 2.6 so is right for that :)

And about the onboard... price, is the only thing why I don't buy an external one.

Thanks,
