If your bank is one of the main Canadian banks they probably would have a partner US bank that provides them with a routing number. Which bank do you currently use? HA-Tina 05-05-2004, 06:45 PM Canadian Banks don't have Routing Number, they have Transit Number. macdonaldp 05-05-2004, 06:47 PM Yes thats correct although my bank (Royal bank of canada) goes through a US bank and they can provide me with a US routing number that works with 2co. http://www.support.2checkout.com/deskpro/faq.php?article=72 Ziad 05-05-2004, 06:48 PM I do my banking with Royal Bank of Canada. I called their customer service and asked them if they had a USA Routing Number or a parent branch in USA. They said there was no such thing. It's weird that 2CO needs such a number because PayPal can transfer funds to your canadian bank account with only your transit and account numbers. HA-Tina 05-05-2004, 06:49 PM In what province are you sh-directssl ? I use RBC bank too but they don't know about routing number, all they can provide is transit number. (from mtl, QC) :( Ziad 05-05-2004, 06:51 PM I'm from mtl, QC as well. I think we have the same problem. It's easy to find our transit number because it's on the bottom of all our checks, but no way to get a USA Routing Number from RBC... :( macdonaldp 05-05-2004, 06:53 PM This is what I got from the Royal Bank. (removed private details) ---------------------- Dear Mr. MacDonald: We have received your message regarding what the routing number for RBC Royal Bank is. The number 026004093 is not RBC Royal Bank's routing number. To confirm, the routing or ABA number for RBC Royal Bank is: 021000021. Thank you for your patience, Mr. MacDonald. What I am in need of is: 1. Transit Routing Number and 2. Canadian Banks US Routing Number Thank you. ------------ I live in Saskatchewan robdavy 05-11-2004, 07:30 PM and with the number they gave you, did it work? HA-Tina 05-11-2004, 07:36 PM 021000021 is not working for mtl :( jamesnw 08-26-2004, 02:38 AM Did anyone figure out what to correct info was? amos462001 08-26-2004, 04:58 AM 2CO can only understand the USA banks. They have no comprehension of World Banking systems. They could never be made to understand that GB has a SWIFT code and each bank has A SORT CODE!! without these functions added the money will not arrive. They (2CO) sent our wires all over the World, Bahamas, etc., and this happened time and time again. We would EXPLAIN in detail the aforementioned each time and each time they would drop the sort code off. PLEASE DON'T REMIND ME OF THE TRAUMA EACH MONTH:bawling: :bawling: Saeven 08-27-2004, 12:40 AM The above is not true. Each bank in North America has its own routing code. Transit code is just your branch number. The routing code for RBC Canada is 026004093 Your 2CO Bank account number will be your transit number, followed by a hypen, followed by your account number. TTTTT-AAAAAAA With the routing code above, and your transit and account number - you will be able to set up your 2CO properly. We've been using 2CO for a few years now with the routing number above, with no problems whatsoever. I do recall however, that RBC gave us a garbage number the first time around. Chase bank or something - use the number above. z505 06-23-2006, 04:05 PM Does anyone know if Candian Currency accounts at Royal Bank in Canada (example a regular Canadian Savings or Chequing account) will accept the ACH from 2checkout/paypal, etc.? I would assume the "Personal US Dollar Account" in Canada at RBC would be the only account that would work, since it has been hooked up with a US bank in Manhatten or wherever. While the Canadian currency savings accounts are not hooked up with a US bank? Or are they? Would the money be converted on the fly with the exchange rate? I heard of one person trying to transfer money into a regular Canadian savings account from 2checkout using that special US routing number 026004093 but didn't find any info about it being successful or unsuccessful in the end! Also, just to confirm in year 2006 - is the US routing number still the same, 026004093 or has it changed since 2004? dotNiagara 06-24-2006, 10:47 PM I think now the 2CO "Banking Wizard" understands Canadian accounts. Click on Bank Account & Payment Details (Option 1 when you log in), and follow the wizard. z505 06-25-2006, 12:44 AM I am actually not a member of 2Checkout yet, as this account stuff would sort of be one of the deciding factors whether I would sign up .. Well, either way I'll probably sign up some time this later month.. but.. are you saying that now you don't even need a US Routing number and that a ScotiaBank, TD Canada Trust, BMO, etc. account might even work As-Is with just a regular transit number and a branch number? Reason I ask is this week I was in the process of setting up my RBC accounts to get this 2Checkout stuff rolling... I'd rather, if possible, hook one of my TD CanadaTrust or Scotiabank accounts up so I don't have to have an RBC account, since Scotiabank offers some better rates (3% moneymaster, and cheap US dollar account with Free money orders). Thanks for any "insider" tips from your 2checkout accounts if you can give me any! Also, Any fees with this new canadian account feature you discovered? Or is it just like the ACH and free? |
