Maybe she was on her way to a huge party?

mantra

well, she does sound rich. 'rides off in a limo' .. but off to a party with Mars bars???? ..

Maybe she's gonna donate those candy to an orphanage or something...

Making 10,000 kids happy with only $3800, that's money well spent.

I doubt this, because she drives off in a limousine, she could've saved money by hiring a cheap van to store the chocolate in, and donate that money to an orphanage instead ;).

I just think she did it to get on the news and be talked about by webhosts around the world :stickout:

What does driving off in a limo have anything to do with it?

if she already owns the limo, it'd be more expensive to rent a truck!

Anyone notice the spelling error in the article? Or is it just me?

The total bill was 2,131 pounds ($3,828).

"It was very, very strange but nobody thought to ask her why she wanted so many," the spokesman said.

"It would usually take us a month to shift that number of chocolate bars," he added. "Perhaps she has a sweet tooth."

Should it not be "ship" instead of shift? :cartman:

That's alot of bars....and a whole lot of cavities :D

no shift, as in sell them. Shifting the stock.

Wow, what an amazing piece of marketing.

Worldwide marketing of Mars Bars for such a low outlay from the Mars marketing department. Well done guys, that's clever thinking.

Was thinking exactly the same thing, good marketing. Could probably put the items they bought back out and reduce the amount spent even more.

But if it was that, then the store would know why she bought the Mars bars because she had to show proof of purchase\the winning ticket

Maybe where she lives they dont sell them anymore, like me with M-Ms (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=217654&highlight=Let+the+Quest+Begin)

She could be desperate for good candy which she considers to be mars bars,i understand this..........

I don't see whats so odd, shes appearantly very wealthy and since time is money, perhaps she wanted to stock up. I've been known to do similar things with Mountain Dew (come close to being asked to leave grocery stores because of it ;) ).

It wasnt a store it was a supermarket,i guess you dont have woolworths in america.

mantra

woolworths in america went out of business.

this seems like a marketing ploy by the Mars company.

Nope shift is absolutely correct.

I also find it quite ironic that there is a spelling mistake in your post. 'Alot' is in fact two words.
