I've tried to find a flaw everywhere in these guys plans but I haven't. I'm looking to be able to do asp and coldfusion pretty cheap. This is as cheap as I have found. I can always upgrade I figure but it's a great starting place. HELP ! What am I missing. What is the flaw?

Be patient. LOL! Although it may seem there's a whole heap of ppl, I usually advise allowing 24 hours for a reply before whinging :)

As far as I'm aware, those prices are quite legitimate.

<hint> You'll find better prices at http://www.inetdesign2k.com or http://www.webexpose.net </hint>

The plan looks good.. looks like NT servers that I dont like.
I would check there support to see how good they are.
Maybe even check some ping times on them and some of there customers sites.
Other than that its trial and error on picking the right host.

Good Luck:)

I went to inetdesign2k.com and their small business plan for $4.95 seems very, very, very reasonable. Any comments? Anyone have experience with them?

Since becoming disabled, and looking into making a career change, I'm considering opening a web hosting company at: http://www.DaytonWebHosting.com. Since I have nothing on this site yet, this is not a plug. I would like to aim for the novice or student accounts initially. Low price/good service. I am not a pro or teckie. I do have 30+ years in retail and hopefully will be able to market this in several ways.

Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.
I also need info on how to set up billing and credit card use on the internet. Can you point me to help in these areas?

Thanks,
Jim

Well, I haven't used ID2000 previously, but Hostsearch turns up generally favourable reviews, and I did consider them when I was looking for an NT host - sales reply speed was reasonably good. (before I settled with WebExpose).

As for web hosting, I suggest you start off reselling accounts - if you look through/do a search in the Reselling and Software forums you'll find quite a few threads as to how to start off.

For all those who replied thanks! Good luck dude, that whole concept of how people make money of that by reselling is beyond me right now... and I senior computer science college student ... hehe . Oh well, a brief explanation would be cool :) . I just want to have a niche on the web that is my own and I have an idea for a small scale clothing line for the computer geeks :) Any help or reference you webvets could give me would be most appreciated!

See my previous post about looking through/doing a search on the appropriate forums and you'll find explanations on reselling.

If thats all you want take a look at the following

http://tera-byte.com/hosting-web.html plan 1 $64.00 yr
http://www.AffordableHost.com/hosting.html plan $45.00 yr

I looked very hard at both of these pinging, e-mailing, checking responses to a real newbie that I am to see if they give service. Both were better than any others I looked at in the price range.

Settled on Tera-byte because at $19.00 more you get more space and transfer just in case you grow.
