has anyone noticed the chargeback % published in cj. visit each host and see the % of chargebacks- 20% is unacceptable, and many quality hosts have about this %.

where does this come from, credit card fraud, poor affiliate partner screening, or advertiser fraud?

any with cj experience please comment- before we plunge we would like opinions.

gracias

We had a high chargeback %, although I don't think they call it that, with commission junction.

But it wasn't because of fraud or anything. It was because commission junctions tracking system was unreliable and we were often paying twice for the same order (same order ID even). So we would have to cancel about half of the transactions.

You'd think they could get it working right. How can their system not recognize that two transactions have the same order id?

Aargh! CJ was a big headache for us! They still owe us lots of money and we're currently seeking legal action against them for the second time.

It's possible during the term of a contract to have to force the other party to meet the terms of the contract more than once.

We would never willingly enter into a SECOND contract with them.

After hearing all the horror stories (plus trying CJ out as an affiliate a year ago), I would never allow a third party to control my affiliate program. Why not set up one on your own (albeit it might not look as pretty, but it will sure as hell be more targeted and best of all you would control it!). There are a number of scripts out there to help accomplish this.

Glad I was slow to adopt CJ and managed to avoid getting burned by them. :(

damn straight! :) We never even entertained using CJ. Far too pricey for what it is, and the continuous bad news I've heard about them for years
