I have a bit of a problem... I have a few domains I need to get transferred for people that are registered at NetSol. I've jumped through their hoops to the domain mod page, filled in the domain and e-mail address on record from a whois check, and then filled out the new nameservers for each domain (about 8 or so in total).

Of all of them one passed the resulting form onto me they were sent, and it says there's an error. What it doesn't say is what that error is! *maybe* it's the lack of my own tech handle? I can't imagine that makes a whole lot of difference though...

... can a few people run through how they deal with getting a domain tranferred through NetSol. I'm at my wits end dealing with those clowns...

I've had a problem a couple of times where the IP numbers of my name servers had changed, but the NetSol domain name database doesn't automatically keep current on name server IP numbers (like every other registrar on the planet does) so they had the old IP number on file. This caused problems in the change of information. The solution is to just put in whatever NelSol has for the name server IPs, just to make them happy. Everything works fine, regardless of the IP numbers.

I don't know if that's happening to you, but is something not so obvious that you might want to look at.

Don't e-mail net sol. Call them and ask for the priority service department. For a small fee they will do it for you the same day. You just give them the info over the phone and thats it. Thats the only way to get something done with them, its when you pay them to do it.

This server's pretty new, so I suppose I'll need to go to them and regsiter the nameservers being used on it? I can't believe they still require people to work with them this way *grr*

Just phone up NetSol, give them your DNS servers, and ask them to MIRROR them so that they match the internic database. After weeks of trying everything I could think of, that's how I finally got them to update the host records.

NetSol almost made me jump off a high building.

*ugh*

Hard to stay off the soap box, but it's amazing this these times of world wide information technology, a world in which I can talk to people all day long without opening my mouth, the largest domain registrar around needs a phone call to get things done right..

.. 10 minutes on the phone and I'm assured it'll all be done shortly (after some e-mail to send back)

He did ask if the domain itself was registered through them, and I almost bit my tongue off keeping my opinion to myself :)
