I have heard this somewhere. I am a reseller and I have got my own nameservers. I registered my domain through registerfly.com
I registered my nameservers there. But do I need to register them with NetSol in order to host domains?
Thanks.

yes and no. You'll need to register the nameservers there as well if any of your clients have domains registered there. They use their own little hermit database instead of being a good little registrar and using the same one all the other registrars use.

Thanks. I thought I had to register my nameservers there.
I talked to their customer service a few days ago and said that they would email me when everything was taken care of.
Today they sent me this email:
"Thank you for your inquiry received on 11/16/01 4:48:35 PM. This inquiry was coded as 180 - Domain Not Resolving. Your inquiry was resolved and closed on 11/20/01 6:18:57 PM. "
What does this mean? I guess it means that they had trouble registering my nameservers?
Am I correct?
Thanks.

Make sure the domain is working as well as the nameservers you registered via registerfly then call them up and tell them everything is working fine and you still need to add the domains to the database. You may need to specify that the domain the nameservers are for isn't with them, but some of your customers are and you need the nameservers in their database so that your customers can use them. If anyone has better tips, post'em in.

I would register my Name Servers with NetSol just because there are so many domains registered by them. You will find a good percentage are.

i recommend NETSOL as well .. as much as we hate them, and they hate us, we know they will be around for a very long time ...

Yup, I do agree with the others, it's definitely a must if you are a Host or Reseller(with own nameservers)
At NSI ... go to sitemap and use the HOST FORM to register your nameservers, on the Form, leave the NIC HANDLE blank but fill in all the other details since it's a new registration being added to their database and upon receipt of email reply and confirm and you are all set to getting your NIC Handle in due course.
To confirm whether you nameservers are registered, wait for 1-2 weeks use their "whois" and do a search using the nameservers or ip address that you registered with them, your details including your NIC HANDLE will show up if it's in their database records.
Hehe, I take an alternative route to get my nameservers registered with them and getting my NIC Handle using the SERVICE AGREEMENT FORM method and later modify the Host Form to include the full details.
