Magic 11-20-2001, 09:02 PM I think this is a great offer...
JBIZ718 goes around critisizing other advertisements so he can sell his own better! I would stay well away from intenseinfo.com since they obviously cant handle any competition.
JBIZ718 11-20-2001, 09:44 PM See you must not understand Magic and this other person who did this post

There is no such thing as unlimited storage space. If you think there is your just as bad as them. Overall the plans are good except this one.
They dont make a unlimited HD, and if they do I want one.
In regards to my company, i have no problems with competition if its done right, but this is misleading, just as you are a reseller and didnt want anyone to know that, once again misleading...
Unlimited HD or bandwidth is physically not possible
Joe
PERL SCRIPTOR 11-20-2001, 09:52 PM Sorry I have to agree with Joe. Advertising unlimited disk space is misleading to customers that don't know any better. Which is in a sense unfair marketing since it makes a service look better then it should be. Of course if a host can provide unlimited space then by all means go ahead. But be prepared, I have gigs and gigs of useless stuff I'd love to store. ;)
HostingSorc 11-20-2001, 10:34 PM The word "Unlimited" that is getting so much attention on this board may have been a poor choice of words on our part, however we can guarantee you will not run out of space.

JBIZ718 it seems people on this board already know about you. I personally thank for the nice remarks. JBIZ718 if you have nothing nice to say maybe you shouldn't be on this board. I might be wrong but it doesn't look like you would be missed.
About our servers:
We are using RaQ4i Servers from rackshack.net.
We do resell our W2K servers which is stated on our site.
But enough with this silly childish name calling. We welcome anyone to join our service even you JBIZ718, if you are SO convinced that we will not provide you with ALL the space you need then try it. All you will gain is fame and the respect of everyone on this board.
If you do not want to join or if you dislike our packages please email us on how we can make it better.
I will change my initial post to clarify exactly what we offer.
Thank you for your time
Bob

JBIZ718 11-20-2001, 10:42 PM People know about me on these boards because ive been around here for awile (1180 posts dont come out of no where)
In regards to 'unlimited'
the fact that you will provide unlimited space is mind boggling.
It is not physically possible to provide us with unlimited space.
I gaurentee that there are enough people on here to proove you wrong when they take up whole hard drives of space of files and what not and you will not make enough money to cover your costs.
Its not a question of band mouthing more of a question of misleading the customer into something that is not physically possible. You may take offense to that, but I take offense that customers thing they are getting something that you can not provide.
If you have a server at rackshack there is a limit to the size of the hard drive. Which means there is a limit to how much space you can give out. Which also means that what you are saying is not possible, which means that you are lieing to your customers....
So please change your post so it is based on reality. Put a crazy amount on there, but make it so its at least possible
I have been doing this 2 + years now, and am sick of this unlimited stuff, its time to change
Joe
TotalHst 11-20-2001, 10:46 PM Unmetered would be a better term to use in this case, since there is no such thing as unlimited space or bandwidth.
Synthetic 11-20-2001, 10:56 PM Unlimited space? I plan to upload 50 GB of files, can you really handle all that for a single account?
HostingSorc 11-20-2001, 11:05 PM Thank You TotalHst;
Correction on the space issue there was a mistake on our part listing the space for our Premium Unix server as unlimited it should of said unmetered. I admit "Unlimited" was a VERY POOR word to use. We do not meter how much space is being used by your site. If by some chance a site uses so much space that the server's HD get's filled which has not happened yet, but if it does we can:
1. upgrade to a larger HD (Which rackshack has available)
2. Purchase another server.
It really is very simple.
JBIZ718 I noticed that there are other companies that you have been critisizing in their posts. Just look around. Do you need a friend? We will be your friend.

We are not trying to mislead anyone and I thank for pointing out that what we were saying was misleading.

How about "unfettered"?

No, this would not be an appropriate use for what this company is trying to promote. Give this company a break guys, they are just starting out and need some pointers here and there. I think everyone now knows what they are offering and that it is not unlimited since there is no such thing, it is simply unmetered. This company put together a quality layout of their offerings and posted it here lets at least be supportive. I know everyone here really gets enraged when they here the word unlimmited, but lets try to keep it cool and next time ask the company to clarify what they actually mean by unlimited. I would now ask and i'm sure the moderators would agree with me here for any of the people who own hosting companies and are commenting to please stop and let this company continue with their promotion now since everything has been cleared up.
Have a wonderful Thanks Giving!
alchiba 11-21-2001, 02:32 AM I was having a little fun with words, not HostingSorc. I apologize if this was taken the wrong way.
HostingSorc handled the criticisms with professionalism and aplomb. I can only applaud that.
(I just now noticed this is an Advertising forum, so I really shouldn't have posted here anyhow. Not cricket, by my lights.)

Good Night Everyone.
Now that's what I call a true player in hosting industry! yay! go HostingSorc! :D
HostingSorc 11-21-2001, 02:21 PM Thank You everyone for your kind remarks and the criticisms also, we learned a lot from this post. Up untill now we have never had a complaint about offering unlimited anything but now I see why. It looks like in the near future we will revamp our plans but don't worry we still will offer enough of everything to suit all your needs. And for anyone who has recently signed up you will get what you signed up for. It is still our promise that you will never have to worry about running out of space while with us. Instead of offering the option of unlimited or unmetered how does 10 Gigs or 20 Gigs sound? Even though we will be "Putting a limit" in the amount of space for our Premium Unix Package, if by chance some excedes the limit or requests some additional space they would not be charged extra. And for those who have already signed up. Your package will not change you will still receive what you signed up for, our guarantee you will not ever have to worry about the amount of space that your site uses for as long as you are with us.
Thank You Again
Bob
MrLister 11-23-2001, 04:14 PM "Unlimited" is not a bad word when you apply a bandwidth limit. So even if you do put down "unlimited" space with 10GB transfer,. you could not store more then 10GB on it/month. If you ever wanted to dl it back you would waste more bandwidth so you could store even less then 10GB/month. If it was something like "unlimited bandwidth" as well then it's a problem but otherwise i see no use for arguing about this and ruining yet another advertisement thread. Most threads in this advertisement forum are ciricitezed and ruined by people. (not specificly, some people don't mean it with that intent) but it always happens. If the above deal was like 25GB transfer then I guess even I could use it to store backup files of my clients :)
